The story of the Irish Fenian convicts transported to Fremantle in 1868 on the last convicts ship to Australia, the bold escape of their leader, John Boyle O'reilly, a year later, and the rescue of six remaining Fenians in 1876 by the US whaler Catalpa.
The Australian National Museum is featuring rare artefacts, artwork, documents, maps and letters from the Fremantle Prison Collection.
