The Glasshouse is Port Macquarie’s new Arts, Conference and Entertainment Centre – setting a benchmark in regional Australia in terms of technical excellence and sustainable design.
Ideally located in the heart of the CBD, the Glasshouse, with its ‘state of the art’ conference facilities, is literally minutes from Rydges Port Macquarie and Port Macquarie’s pristine coastal beaches and the Hastings River.
Rydges Port Macquarie is pleased to announce they have been named the Preferred Accommodation Partner for the Glasshouse guests and delegates. Break out facilities will also be shared between the two premium venues with opportunities to utilise both Rydges and Glasshouse spaces for conferences, meetings and events.
Located on the mid north coast, Port Macquarie is becoming increasingly popular as a business and leisure tourism destination with the opening of the Glasshouse and its diverse entertainment program as well as Virgin Blue’s jet services to the area, complementing Qantaslink’s regular services.
With a versatile layout and high tech facilities, the Glasshouse caters to a range of activities – from business presentations through to social events – capable of hosting conferences of up to 600 people, large and small meetings, training workshops, product launches, industry expo’s, presentation and awards ceremonies.
Specific areas suitable for events within the Glasshouse include the 606 seat Theatre/ Auditorium, the Studio with flexible seating for 144, meeting rooms for groups of 15 to 140 people, two spacious foyers each able to accommodate up to 30 standard size exhibition booths and a 600 m2 Gallery of international standard over three levels, a stylish venue for private dinners and cocktails.
The Glasshouse Theatre has tiered seating in both the stalls and dress circle and smaller conferences can opt to hire the stalls section only, which seats 415 people and includes 4 wheelchair seats. In addition to the dress circle, there are two boxes, each seating 13 people, which are ideal for corporate hospitality.
The Glasshouse offers full fibre-optic communications and broadcast capabilities with audio-visual support provided by Glasshouse technicians; many of the technical facilities are included within the hire charge rather than being optional extras. The acoustics are outstanding and recording facilities are readily accessible to event organisers, providing an opportunity to create a CD or DVD to commemorate the occasion.
The orchestra pit can be raised and lowered, via sophisticated lift automation, providing a dramatic display platform for product launches, and the pit is capable of accommodating large items such as motor vehicles, accessing the Theatre stage through the loading dock. Lighting and sound design is high quality and there is the facility for digital projection. Breakout rooms associated with the Theatre include dressing and wardrobe rooms, musicians’ rooms, rehearsal space and secure instrument and equipment storage.
The opportunity to sample the best of Hastings produce is also a distinguishing feature of the Glasshouse and Rydges Port Macquarie which is committed to showcasing local enterprises through their catering and corporate hospitality packages.
