CMC Rocks the Snowys... again

Get ready everyone, it’s back, CMC Rocks the Snowys again in 2009 and it promises a top local and international line up. From March 6-7, Thredbo’s Friday Flat is transformed into music bowl, performers to the front with a mountain range as the backdrop. Under the sparkling alpine sunshine these hills will certainly be rocking with the sound of music.
“Brilliant”, “fantastic”, “awesome”, “Thredbo - what a beauty”, were just a few of the comments buzzing through the village and country music forums after last years festival.
Reaching out to a diverse crowd, this festival has it all – it mixes late teen and twenty something’s at the front of house, with families and older music lovers blanketing it up on the slopes of Friday Flat.
Following a hugely successful inaugural year, the second year line-up includes one of the hottest sensations on the US charts today, Grammy-nominated country pop artist, Taylor Swift, along with Canadian Roots Artist of the Year 2008 (for the fifth year in a row), Corb Lund. They will be joined with local chart-topping music artists, Pete Murray, The Waifs, Ash Grunwald, Steve Forde, The Audreys, The Sunny Cowgirls, Jasmine Rae, Morgan Evans, Amber Lawrence and Jake Nikolai. Even better news… two more international artists are heading this way and will be announced very soon.
The best part of having a festival in Australia’s coolest alpine village is that you can make a holiday out of a visit. You can enjoy the two day festival whilst mixing it up with some great in resort activities. Take a hike to the top of Australia, with Mt Kosciuszko only 6k’s from the top of Thredbo, tee off on Australia’s highest golf course, have a hit of tennis, ride the bobsled and take a chairlift ride to some on the best views around.
