The Eumundi Markets are one of Australia's leading tourist attractions and are held every Saturday 6:30am - 2pm and Wednesday 8am - 1pm of the year.
Situated in the heart of the historic town of Eumundi is the original world-renowned Eumundi Markets, established 1979. This otherwise sleepy hinterland town (located 48km from Caloundra) comes to life in the early hours of the morning, transforming into a vibrant place for the shopper who looking is for that “something different”.
Over 500 stalls operate and are scattered throughout the town where tourists can purchase unique creations from local artists, indulge their taste buds with a multitude of culinary delights, have their caricature drawn, palm read or pamper themselves with one of the many masseurs available.
When you need a break from the shopping there's plenty of local talent to keep you entertained be it either world music sounds, country tunes or trancing tribal rhythms .... they all get your toes tapping. Together with the traditional bush poetry, street theatre and buskers there is a new adventure on every corner.
After the market, explore the historical town of Eumundi that is shaded by the Heritage listed fig trees that rise high above the streets which were planted in memory of 20 soldiers from the area who lost their live during World War 1.
Many of the buildings in this unique Queensland town were constructed between 1890 and 1930 and are fine examples of the era. Explore the Museum, the original bank building, the old bakery and the School of Arts Hall not to mention the local pubs.
There are ATM’s, parking, bus stops, disabled access and toilets all located within an easy distance from the markets.
The Eumundi Markets are a must see for anyone visiting the Sunshine Coast!!
