Palmer Street Traders Unite

Palmer Street restaurateurs, hoteliers and retailers have joined forces to create a united voice for the precent. Traders held a meeting at Rydges Southbank with attendees unanimously voting to adopt a constitution and form an association to represent the traders of the Palmer Street precinct.
Paul Burke, General Manager of Rydges Southbank, has taken the role of secretary. Mr. Burke said 90% of traders had joined the association and were positive about the benefits of the group's formation. "It gives us a united voice to be able to talk to council and event organisers." he said.
The key objectives of the organisation are to work closely with local council to attract more events to the area and to showcase the upgrade of the precinct which was recently completed by council.
The Palmer Street Support Traders Association will meet on the second Wednesday of each month. If local have ideas or suggestions for the association, they can contact Paul Burke on 4726 5202 or via email on paul_burke@rydges.com.
