Guys Grooming Perth’s first male grooming venue has opened. Situated in the fashionable West End of Hay Street just a short distance from Rydges Perth, Guys Grooming is a masculine-inspired environment where the logo says it all.
So don’t expect flowers, inspirational artworks or Enya. Instead relax in comfortable couches, watch flat screen TV’s and chill out with a beverage while reading your favorite magazines or papers to experience the best in male grooming services.
Where has the inspiration for delivering this long-awaited concept to the men of Perth come from? From two home-grown guys who have spent a combined 12 years’ travelling the world before returning home to beautiful Perth.
Nathan Ahern and Leycester Cory both grew up in WA but only met while driving coaches in Europe and quickly realized they were among the same crowd. This early coincidence and a passion for travel engaged them in the popular sport of people-watching.
It was obvious from trips to Italy and the constant publicity of David Beckham that men were becoming as much a mainstay of the fashion world as women. In this developing trend, men had to maintain their appearance and here the idea for Guys Grooming was born.
“We would be dining in a restaurant in Rome and couples would walk in looking immaculate, with the men giving as much attention to their hair and body as their female partners,” Nathan recalled.
“Then we would go clubbing in London and be rejected at the door with the excuse of ‘Sorry Governor, no entry, your hair isn’t right’,” Leycester (who has hair) added, grinning at Nathan’s hairless dome.
With the support of their wives, Guys Grooming has been a passion for more than four years. While developing this concept they have watched every turn of the male grooming market and identified the need to use the industry’s best products. Guys Grooming promotes Redken for Men, American Crew and Dermalogica for all services because these products are the industry standard for male grooming excellence.
Services offered by Guys Grooming are deliberately described in terms that make it clear who they are aimed at. With the tongue-in-cheek humour that pervades the brand, clients are invited to "Rebuild, Repair and Maintain" their bodies. Offering hair cuts, colours and treatments, the Hair Care Bay offers all the hair management needed, along with a complimentary head massage.
The venue offers grooming treatments specifically tailored for men - from facial work, hand and foot detailing to waxing and massage. Staff members are friendly, efficient, fun and highly professional and there is a full range of treatment and 'maintenance' products for sale to ensure that you keep your body in top condition between visits.
Guys Grooming is conveniently located within the Perth CBD, adjacent to King St at 811 Hay St (opposite Nando's). It’s open Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, so there is no excuse for time-poor guys to look shabby. It's also perfect for group bookings for pre-wedding pampering and the entire venue can be booked on weekends.
