If you are a lover of the movie Billy Elliot – then January 28 2007 is a special day for you! After a knockout season in the UK, Billy Elliot the musical is coming to Sydney at the Capitol Theatre Sydney!
As with the film, Billy Elliot the Musical is set against the backdrop of a mining community in turmoil and follows the journey of a young boy who takes up ballet when convention tells him he should be boxing. This funny, heartfelt and dramatic story tugs at the heart strings and is a definite watch for all.
The hype in regards to the musical is already capturing Sydney, with the four Billy Elliot’s is chosen out of thousands of hopefuls. Lochlan Denholm, Rhys Kosakowski, Rarmian Newton and Nick Twiney will begin rehearsals for their first large scale musical production in July.
As well as director Stephen Daldry (who also directed the movie Billy Elliot) and music compiled by Elton John, this show is definitely going to be a must see.
