Giselle Australian Ballet in Brisbane Tuesday, 8 July 2008 to Saturday, 12 July 2008 Happening at Lyric Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane | |

“It has heart, soul and emotional truth. Nobody does story ballets as well as The Australian Ballet…” – Herald Sun.
Since its 1841 debut in Paris, Giselle has become one of the world’s favourite ballets.
Giselle, a simple peasant girl, falls in love with Albrecht, a prince in disguise who visits her village. When the deception is revealed a broken heart leads to madness and the grave. Joining the Willis – the ghosts of spurned lovers – she visits Albrecht to exact retribution.
This is one of the real show pieces of classical ballet; steeped in history, beautifully staged and full of demanding, traditional dancing. Do not miss this spellbinding tale of love and deception.
