Previously home to the legendary Bobby McGees Restaurant & Bar, Rydges Lakeside has long been synonymous with providing a fun, quality and entertaining dining experience. Locanda Italian Steakhouse promises to continue this tradition by offering modern Italian cuisine along with a vast range of delicious meat, poultry and seafood dishes in a contemporary and relaxed setting. In fitting with the restaurant’s international influence, Locanda features a traditional antipasta station and a mozzarella bar which promise to add to the unique and fun dining experience.
The menu is both affordable and appealing to all levels of diners with mains starting at $21 Locanda is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and bookings are currently available right throughout the Holiday period.
Locanda recently secured the services of Chef Paolo Milanesi to undertake the position of Executive Chef. Chef Paolo grew up in family of restauranteurs and celebrating with food was always a big part of his upbringing. At Locanda, Paolo has taken the best of the regional cuisines from both the North and the South of Italy, to create his own mouth watering repertoire of the best Italian dishes and modern recipes. Paolo's skills and experience further enhance the authenticity of the restaurant’s Italian theme and provide a fresh and innovative flavour.
Locanda has also employed the expertise of “the wine man” Peter Bourne to establish one of Canberra’s largest selections of wines with a variety of local ACT and NSW wines included on the wine list, along with an international mix from Italy. A cocktail and bar menu is also available for those not wishing to indulge in the full dining experience.
