Prime Wine Bar & Grill, one of Melbourne’s newest and most stylish eateries, is located on the ground floor of the refurbished Rydges on Swanston Melbourne hotel overlooking picturesque Swanston Gardens.
Prime is a contemporary modern bar & grill offering the very best in food, service and presentation all within a relaxed, friendly setting.
The Restaurant
The Prime team prides itself on attention to detail and serving fantastic food. The ala carte Dinner menu features tantalising dishes with a focus on Steak & Seafood. Our signature dish is the PRIME Platter, a celebration of freshest seafood, which serves two and is presented on a spectacular 3 tier platter.
Prime Wine Bar & Grill caters for all tastes and offers something for both vegetarians and those other dietary considerations. Prime is open from 8.00 am to 10pm and the menu changes and evolves throughout the course of the day. A relaxed Breakfast menu slides effortlessly into a contemporary lunch selection whilst the ala carte Dinner menu is both creative and satisfying.

The Bar
The bar allows patrons to sit back, relax and enjoy a artfully blended cocktail, or savour a wine or beer from our extensive menu all whilst listening to some laid back and chilled beats. It’s a perfect spot to catch up with friends or work colleagues and depending on the weather, patrons can enjoy a drink on the outside deck overlooking Swanston Gardens or kick back on the large couches around a blazing log fire.
Come down on and join us on a Friday and Saturday night to relax and enjoy acoustic performances from local artists, you can sample our Tapas menu and select a wine from our walk in wine room.
