This highly anticipated sequel was the biggest movie of the year when released and features an exciting and dramatic soundtrack from the pen of Hans Zimmer.
Featuring the original cast of Johnny Deep, Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom, Dead Man’s Chest is a must for all movie buffs out there. If you saw the CSO perform The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2012, you’ll already know that this is one not to be missed.

Madama Butterfly is a timeless story of hope, honour, fidelity and love, woven together with such exquisite devotion that it now stands as one of the most meaningful and moving experiences one can have in the theatre. Puccini’s luminescent ‘Humming Chorus’ holds all the promise of a summer’s night, all the perfume of cherry blossoms — and all the anguish of a young girl desperately in love. The equally iconic aria ‘Un bel dì’ is famous for capturing the very essence of Cio-Cio-San’s innocence. This is the power of Puccini and we are thrilled to bring our 2013 production of this exquisite opera to Christchurch audiences.
Alan Davies – Little Victories
Following the sell out success of his long-awaited return to stand up in 2013, Alan Davies (star of QI and Jonathan Creek) returns to New Zealand with his critically acclaimed follow up show 'Little Victories' with a national tour.
Much lauded as resident dunderhead on QI or the charming but reticent crime solver Jonathan Creek, Davies virtuosic story telling and whip-smart funny bones combine to make this a show not to be missed.
“Packed with deft silliness and shrewd observation, you'll find the years have added an unexpected dash of wisdom to the package.” The Guardian, UK
"By the end of the show, your jaw will hurt from laughter” - The New Zealand Herald
"The audience was kept laughing for more than 90 minutes and left as they arrived, fizzing.” - The Dominion Post

Dylan Moran - Off the Hook
Dylan Moran, star and creator of TV’s ‘Black Books’ is back in New Zealand with a brand new show, ‘Off the Hook’.
Moran's legendary stand up rants have sold out across the world, cementing this unkempt wordsmith’s reputation as one of the foremost comics of his generation. Ageing, religion, kids, and relationships intertwine with the general absurdities of life. Searing observations and sumptuous imagery, painted across a large fraying canvas with cruel, curmudgeonly 'Moranesque' brush strokes and all delivered with Dylan's renowned, shambolic charm...It's simply unmissable.
His big screen appearances have included ‘Run Fat Boy Run’ ‘Shaun Of The Dead’ and ‘Calvary’.
For any lover of comedy, this is the must see show of 2015. Don’t miss Dylan Moran on his ‘Off the Hook’ tour in August. Hurry, he will sell out!

Last Night of the Proms
The CSO presents series would not be complete without the orchestra’s annual salute to the British musical tradition of Last Night of the Proms. With Union Jack flags at the ready let the pomp and circumstance begin. Proms Maestro, Brian Law leads the orchestra, choir and soloists through a witty evening of great classics and audience fun.
Full voice is mandatory for the British patriotic pieces Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem and the throwing of streamers is highly encouraged. Add to the mix the beautiful surroundings of the Isaac Theatre Royal and you would almost feel like you were in the Albert Hall.
