Rydges Uniforms by Deryn Schmidt
The relationship between Deryn Schmidt and Rydges Wellington began in October 2011, after an introduction by style consultant Samantha Hannah. Rydges were looking to acquire a uniform that they would be proud to wear, that was classic yet stand out from other hotels. It also needed to be comfortable, practical, durable, and work well for all body shapes. This brief seemed to fit extremely well with the Deryn Schmidt label and the prospect of designing and producing the first ever Deryn Schmidt uniform for another quality focused Wellington brand was very exciting.
The whole process although extremely involved and time consuming, has gone remarkably smoothly and has been very rewarding. The many hours spent at Rydges has provided the opportunity to meet and get to know many of the team members, experience the superior level of service, as well as take advantage of the facilities on offer. We were also fortunate enough to host a VIP function in the amazing Penthouse suite, enjoying the large decks and fantastic views over the city and harbour.
We are tremendously proud of the resulting uniforms, 100% designed and produced in NZ, for the team at Rydges. The feedback and appreciation has been particularly satisfying, having succeeded in providing fashionable, feminine and flattering styles that each team member actually wants to put on every day. The luxurious wool suiting, combined with the cool viscose shirts and printed silk scarves ensure that they not only look stunning, but they feel fantastic too.
