Centrally located in New Zealand's cool little capital, Rydges Wellington is only a short walk from Parliament, Queens Wharf, Lambton Quay, Courtenay Place, the Train Station, Westpac Stadium and the Cuba Quarter.

Our three function spaces can accommodate up to 40 for a seated dinner or up to 60 for a standing cocktail function. Our executive chef can provide a selection of menus for your consideration, including specialty menus which cater towards specific dietary requirements.

For your larger Wellington events or celebrations, the Grand Space can comfortably accommodate up to 230 delegates in a seated banquet setup. Our team can provide you with everything you need to run the event, and can also recommend theming options to help give your Wellington events the "wow factor".

Sporting Groups

Rydges Wellington is the capitals newest and largest hotel, and the closest hotel to Westpac Stadium. With 280 guest rooms, spacious conference floor and leisure facilities you are guaranteed to be right in the middle of the action.

Rydges Wellington is centrally located downtown on Featherston Street with a unique combination of harbour and city outlooks. The hotel is within walking distance to Lambton Quay, Westpac Stadium, TSB Arena, Queens Wharf and the Wellington Railway Station making it ideally located in the heart of the capital.

Christmas functions

The festive season is approaching as we are tearing through the year.

There is the undeniable excitement that bubbles within when we acknowledge that the shortest day has long since passed and we are now on the homestretch towards summer days spend with our cherished ones. However, for many of us, with that distant jingling sound comes a certain degree of chaos when it comes to planning the next workplace Christmas function – one that will outshine the last, suit the masses and of course...not cost the earth!

Whether tasked with planning a large end of year bash or a small intimate lunch, Rydges Wellington and Portlander Bar & Grill have all bases covered so suit a variety of numbers and budgets. With buffet lunch options from only $55.00 incl GST per person, and canapé options from $26.50 incl GST, the team are confident they can help you plan a successful function.
