Canadian singer-songwriters Tegan And Sara will return to Australia this April and May for a run of headline dates, alongside the already announced Groovin’ The Moo festival. When the identical twins first came to our attention with their canny pop smarts all those years ago, they were a brash young indie outfit, doing things on their own terms as they had been since beginning their musical adventures together way back in the late-‘90s. Oh how things have changed.
These days Tegan And Sara are well and truly entrenched in the big leagues, having sold nearly a million career albums and having shared stages around the world with bands of the calibre of The Killers and Neil Young. Their music has grown organically to the point where – while still adored by their underground early adopters – they’ve gained a whole new following in the pop realm, their timeless and heartfelt music connecting with people of all ages, scenes and demographics. Free Concerts at St George's Cathedral
St George's Cathedral have a series of free lunchtime concerts, commencing every second Wednesday from 29 May.
The concert series is called "Concerts at One" because this series starts at 1.00pm for 45 minutes. They are aimed at city workers and shoppers, seniors or tourists on a outing through Perth.
At the same time, these concerts provide an opportunity for talented students to perform in a unique environment to an appreciative audience.

Morning Melodies
You are invited to attend a fantastic series of morning concerts full of entertainment, music and song. These shows, entitled Morning Melodies, will be held at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre, Murdoch Road in Thornlie, once a month, on Wednesday mornings, and will run until December 2013.

Truffle Kerfuffle
Now in its third year, Truffle Kerfuffle is a popular one day festival showcasing regional food and wine. Held in Manjimup, at Fonty's Pool, on Saturday 22nd June, 2013, this event always attracts loads of people and this year will be no exception
About 70% of the black truffles produced by Australia can be found in Western Australia's Southern Forests region. Truffles are a delicacy - highly prized, quite rare and very expensive.
A series of different events are held during the festival including a Truffle Hunt with trained truffle dogs, forty minute Master Class sessions, Meet and Mingle with some of the top writers, chefs and winemakers in Australia, truffle expert Dr Frederick Boulet, celebrity chefs, Gala Dinners, food and wine tastings and much more.

For the uninitiated: Danny McGinlay is a comedian. He lives in Melbourne, however he has performed all over the world.
For those slightly more interested:
Australia’s Three Michelin Star Comedian, Danny McGinlay has been performing stand up since the age of 16. In that time he has performed all over Australia and done stints in London, New York & the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Danny has been on the television numerous times: Rove, The Project, The Footy Show, The Circle, John Saffran’s Race Relations, The Mansion, City Homicide, Stand up Australia, and he had one line in Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Pacific’.
He made his Hollywood debut in the Nicolas Cage thriller ‘Knowing’. He appears in the pivotal opening scene, meaning if you list the cast in order of appearance, he almost has top billing.

Don Giovanni is based on the legendary character of Don Juan, one of opera's most shameless and charming seducers.
From the opening scene, the reckless libertine and his bumbling attendant Leporello crash from one shocking situation to the next. Finally, mocking the statue of the Commendatore in the graveyard seals his fate as Don Giovanni stubbornly refuses to repent for his behavior and his soul is damned.
Combining comic elements of 'opera buffa' and tragic opera, the light-heartedness in the story and music is brief and is swiftly followed by moral outrage and the thirst for revenge.

La Boheme
This production, set in the 1990s, tells the story of four poor bohemians living in a rundown loft in the Latin quarter of Paris. Tragic and heartfelt, La Bohème tells the story of Rodolfo, a poet and his friends a painter, musician and philosopher.
Mimì, a fragile seamstress who lives next door, falls in love with Rodolfo. He feigns jealousy in an effort to dissuade her love, believing someone wealthier would be able to help her get better. Mimì's health rapidly declines and finally her friends gather and watch on helplessly as she succumbs, her true love at her side.

Ashes Test Match
England's second successive Ashes series next winter will begin in Brisbane on November 21.
Cricket Australia today released the dates for the five-Test portion of the 2013-14 tour, which also contains five one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches and begins just weeks after Australia depart England.
