Coming Up...
It’s the ultimate man-shed. Two acres of timber, tools and trellises, guaranteed to make your man-ovaries ache. It’s a fantasy supermarket where dreams and wobbly bookshelves are made. Harley Breen has two brothers, they’re both carpenters. He likes going to Bunnings to look at things he could make if they were around to fix them.
Perhaps this is Bunnings’ great, dark secret: no-one there knows what the hell they’re doing. It is the perfect place to wander around and feel like you’ve got the skills and materials to nail your stuff together.

The Bonegilla Migrant Experience
Operating from 1947 to 1971, the Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre was the first, largest and longest-operating migration reception centre in Australia. Some 320,000 migrants and refugees from more than 30 countries passed through the gates at Bonegilla, seeking temporary accommodation and support as they made the transition to life in Australia. This exhibition shares the stories and experiences of these people, and pays tribute to their contribution to the formation of our multicultural society. The exhibition is a permanent tourist destination which is open to the public for a self guided tour.

Supercroc
What was it like to be one of the largest crocodilians ever to roam the earth?
Meet Supercroc - an 11 metre, 9,000 kilogram replica of Sarchosuchus imperator. Super croc's jaws boasted more than 100 teeth, including a row of enlarged bone-crushing incisors. Its eye sockets were tilted upward, which helped it to conceal its huge body underwater while scanning the river's edge for its next dinner.
This 11 metre-long life-size replica of one of the world's greatest crocodiles will be on display at the LibraryMuseum from May. SuperCroc was donated to Australian Museum by its creator National Geographic Channel.
Its genuine ancestor roamed the world 110 million years ago, in what is now the windswept Ténéré Desert, Central Niger - home of the richest dinosaur beds in Africa. When the fossilised jaws were found, palaeontologists knew it was no dinosaur. In fact - it was a dinosaur eater!
The snout and teeth were designed for grabbing prey - fish, turtles and dinosaurs that strayed too close. This enormous reptile made Africa's ancient riverbanks a very dangerous place.

Sundowner
"It's the strangest thing. No longer being able to tell what is the past and what is the present. It seems that events that took place only minutes ago are now being erased while memories I have been able to hold at bay for decades suddenly come rushing towards me."
The realm of memory remains a great mystery. Through the eyes of three generations, Sundowner tells the story of so many Australian families. If a loved one starts to lose their memories, what role can we play in holding onto them? And how can we care for them in the present while honouring their memory?
Starring Helen Morse, Sundowner combines theatre, dance and physicality in a story of lament and at times, grief and sorrow. Ultimately though, this is a story of love: love of family, love of history and love of life.

Foster & Allen
Foster & Allen – Ireland’s most famous and successful duo return to Australia in 2013.
Mick Foster and Tony Allen have been performing together for more than 30 years. They first toured Australia in 1983 and this will be their 18th trip down under.
These charismatic singers have been performing their unique blend of easy listening and folk music and their popularity is proven with their record sales. Between them they have sold 18 million records, making them one of Ireland's biggest entertainment exports, in the same league as U2, Enya, Boyzone and The Corrs.
Their 23 albums have included the immensely popular The Rambles of Spring, A Bunch of Thyme, Maggie and After All These Years.
Formed in 1975, this most famous ever singing duo in Irish music history began working on the local music circuits of Ireland and England. Soon with their own special brand of music the duo became hugely popular. In the first year, Foster & Allen recorded their first single, The Rambles of Spring which was a massive hit on both sides of the Irish Sea.
After 30 years, their popularity continues to flourish and fans often travel long distances to catch their shows as they tour around the country.

The Bull, The Moon And The Coronet Of Stars
In recent weeks, stirrings have haunted the ancient relics within the museum and rumours of a monster abound. One night, alone together as the sexual tension between Marion and Michael mounts, the lights go out and there is nothing but an unravelling ball of string to protect them from the creature in the darkness.
Inspired by the Greek myths of Ariadne, Theseus and Dionysis, The Bull, The Moon and The Coronet of Stars is a whimsical, sensual and charmingly humorous love story from one of the sharpest pens in Australian theatre.
Award-winning playwright, Van Badham and director Lee Lewis will lure you into an orgy of antiquity, cupcakes and beachside frivolity.

Given such popularity, this year's Roadshow plans to connect with even more comedy fans and share the kind of humour that's had Melbourne weeping with laughter. More than 300 shows contained in one - you can't get better value than that.

Taking in hip-hop, disco and partner dancing, clubbing, white supremacy and drunken street violence, Disco elegantly and articulately concludes that the world's been going to hell in a hand basket since everyone stopped touching each other on the dance floor.
Disco explores the big issues in contemporary society - is street violence caused by electronic dance music? Is it coincidence that aggression's been on the rise since partner dancing went the way of good manners? And how come songs used to be written about the moon, and now it's all hos and bitches? Disco is directed by Tim Ferguson (Don't Forget Your Toothbrush). As you'd expect the show is fearless and funny.

Happy As Larry
Happy As Larry is a dynamic, playful and beautifully layered new dance work which investigates the elusive nature of human happiness.
Created by award-winning choreographer Shaun Parker, this powerful performance combines an intoxicating, free flowing mix of ballet, break-dance, acrobatics and highly physical contemporary dance. The cast of characters is developed from the Enneagram, a psychological system that maps nine personality types: The perfectionist; the giver; the performer; the tragic romantic; the observer; the devil's advocate; the optimist; the boss; and the mediator, all rich inspiration for Shaun Parker's insightful creativity.
Set to a vibrant electro/acoustic score by Nick Wales and Bree van Reyk, the performers bring fun and danger to the fore in this innovative and moving dance work.

The Table Of Knowledge
In February 2008, The Independent Commission Against Corruption began investigating allegations of corruption involving local developers and staff at Wollongong Council, an investigation termed 'Operation Atlas'. The resultant scandal had reverberations far beyond expectations, suggesting entanglements with members of the NSW State Government and culminating with the sacking of the entire Council.
The ICAC investigation exposed sexual obsessions, envelopes full of cash, and a secret cabal of powerful men that met regularly around a plastic table outside a local kebab shop, described by them as 'the table of knowledge.'
Acclaimed performance group, version1.0, turns its forensic theatrical vision onto the inquiry transcripts and the media reportage of the scandal, to produce a hilariously entertaining, informative and deeply moving interrogation of power, corruption and good governance in contemporary Australia.

I Heart Bunnings
It’s the ultimate man-shed. Two acres of timber, tools and trellises, guaranteed to make your man-ovaries ache. It’s a fantasy supermarket where dreams and wobbly bookshelves are made. Harley Breen has two brothers, they’re both carpenters. He likes going to Bunnings to look at things he could make if they were around to fix them.
Perhaps this is Bunnings’ great, dark secret: no-one there knows what the hell they’re doing. It is the perfect place to wander around and feel like you’ve got the skills and materials to nail your stuff together.

I'm Your Man
For 18 months, theatre-maker Roslyn Oades and her trusty tape recorder followed a determined, young boxer from Bankstown through his preparations for a world title fight. I'm Your man is the story of whom she and her recordings met along the way: past legends, up and comers and failed contenders whose lives have been irreversibly changed by the fight game.
The Butter Factory Theatre will be transformed into a boxing gym: a place of dreams, of glory, of a better life, where everyone wants to be special and only one thing is certain - that no matter how high you fly, you will eventually lose.
I'm Your Man is no ordinary slice of life. The actors wear earpieces and take their lines directly from the ringsides, gyms and dressing rooms of Oades' recordings. This is fuelled up, high stake, real deal theatre.
I'm Your Man is the third of a trilogy by Oades about acts of bravery and the psychology of respect. Behind the thrilling, brutal sport lies a compelling tale of courage and its cost.

Squaring The Wheel
When an eccentric misfit meets a strange world of contraptions, everything turns into a challenging and surprising discovery. Did you ever wonder how a vacuum cleaner and ironing board can help a man with his hat? Or how a broom finds itself making up part of a band? Or how eggs can walk or records play without a record player? These and other world mysteries are revealed in a quirky and heart-warming story of a search for finding one’s place. Squaring The Wheel brings together circus skills, puppetry, magic, wacky mechanisms, unexpected music and audience participation in a set full of delightfully impractical contraptions. Squaring The Wheel is a theatrical stage extravaganza with a comical and physical language.

Squaring The Wheel
Turn off the main road and follow the gravel road up the hill. Nancy Browne is having a garage sale. There will be treasure like you can’t imagine. Like you really can’t imagine. Eccentric and reclusive, Nancy Browne has lived in the same house, the same Tasmanian valley all her life, but now the valley is changing — farms are being sold and city people are moving in bringing with them new ideas and new ways. And now the farm has been sold. A developer has bought it and is going to create a suburb on it, Perfect Ponds. The wider world has encroached and Nancy has to make sense of it. She also has to move house. Directed by three-time Barry Award nominee Damian Callinan and performed by Rachel Leary, Everything Must Go is a comedic and poignant portrayal of a misfit finding her way. Set in Tasmania’s Huon Valley the show explores the mixing of subcultures that occurs as city folk move into rural areas. It centres around one character, Nancy Browne, whose family has been living on the same farm for years, but now, they (she) must go. Charming and odd, Nancy draws out family stories from the items she is selling in her garage sale, as well as highlighting her own take on the world. She tells stories of the valley where she lives, her neighbours and the changes that are taking place. Hilarious, ridiculous and very touching, this is a fabulously unique Australian character.

Applause Festival 2013
Saturday 20th October, Albury's QEII Square and part of Dean St burst into colour, music, song and dance, as Albury Central hosted the 11th annual Applause Festival.
The day began with the Murray Conservatorium’s Stage Band, then...our favourite pubs battled it out for 'The Great Applause Waiter’s Race', attendees cheered on their favourite festival buskers, were amazed at the antics of our guest artists, had their face painted or hair sprayed, joined in a workshop or two, bought a show bag, made their mark with the pavement chalk, watched the roller derby demos, joined in with the audience dance workout with DMB Dance & Performing Arts Centre, grabbed there besties for a photo in the photo booth....plus much much more.
A glorious 27 degrees, the day was simply amazing. Local buskers were able to strut their stuff on one of the 5 Busking Sites, were saw a fantastic performance from The Flying Fruit Fly Circus who performed to a jam packed crowd, and we saw the thrills and spills of our 5 Guests Artists.
In what has become an annual tradition, the Applause Festival has once again supported a local charity.
2013 information and program coming soon!

The Pyjama Girl
On September 1 1934, the body of a young woman was discovered partly concealed in a culvert running under Howlong Road 8 kilometres west of Albury. She had been bashed and shot and her body set alight. No one knew who this young woman was and wild rumours abounded.
Intriguingly, she was found wearing yellow silk pyjamas, a detail the media latched onto, naming this unknown victim, the Pyjama Girl.
The investigation that followed became something of a phenomenon throughout the nation, capturing the headlines of every major newspaper for almost a decade. Closer to home, the Pyjama Girl mystery became synonymous with the identity of Albury.
Eventually a man confessed to the killing, identifying the woman as Linda Agostini, his wife. The case was closed and Antonio Agostini served a little over 4 years for manslaughter before being deported to Italy.
Playwright and former Kiewa resident, Emma Gibson found, upon investigation, there is much, much more to the story than the official records suggest.
