ANZ Stadium was the original stadium that housed the 2000 Summer Olympics and was the largest Olympic Stadium ever built at the time.
Since undergoing major reconfiguration work, the venue has since held major sporting events such as the State of Origin Series, International Cricket, Aussie Rules, the 2003 Rugby World Cup finals as well as Bledisloe Cup matches. With the ability to change from an oval to round configuration, it is the only venue in the world that can cater for 5 different sports (obviously not at the same time!)
The Stadium seats up to 83 500 people and has also played host to global entertainment such as U2, AC/DC and The Rolling Stones.
