2012 marks the suburb of Newtown's 150th birthday, and to
celebrate, Newtown Neighbourhood Centre is throwing a party not to
forget. Camperdown Memorial Rest Park will once again don its
bunting and flags as it is transformed into a bohemian playground
for the annual Newtown Festival.
Newtown Festival is one of Sydney's largest and longest running
free community festivals, and the 2012 festival will celebrate the
Newtown community's passion for tolerance, diversity and
acceptance. More than 60,000 people gather at the festival each
year to experience a vibrancy of community expression through
music, the arts and grassroots creativity.

Vivid Sydney 2013
Vivid Sydney is back for its fifth year, from 24 May to 10 June, to transform the city at night into a colourful canvas of light, music and ideas as it becomes a playground for the world’s creative industries. Vivid Sydney is the largest light and music festival in the Southern Hemisphere and is a ‘must see’ global event, highly anticipated by Sydneysiders and visitors alike.
Vivid Light returns with the longest ever Light Walk along the city’s foreshore, illuminating crowd-favourites Circular Quay and the Rocks nightly from 6:00pm to midnight, and featuring more light installations from Campbell’s Cove to Walsh Bay and, for the first time, Fort Denison.

NSW VB Blues fans will have a plethora of opportunities to support, connect and embrace the Holden State of Origin Series in 2013 with several new initiatives put forth by NSWRL Events Manager, Paul Langmack.
Langmack, along with a handful of other Blues Legends have set up the True Blues organisation and the group will hold a number of functions around the 2013 series with events to be located at Origin venues and also in country areas.

“The Jewel Lamp: A Praise of Bodhicitta” is the original text written by Khunu Rinpoche and took the form of a diary.
This is one of His Holiness’s favorite teachings and as a follow up to his 2009 Sydney Teachings, His Holiness will work through Khunu Rinpoche’s beautiful text, over the course of two and half days.

Adam’s back from the UK and live onstage with his first solo show in three years – Happyism.
One of our greatest comedy exports, Adam had a mammoth 2012 – The 2012 European summer culminated in the greatest Paralympic Games ever, Adam Hills was front and centre of this historic moment as the host of Channel 4’s The Last Leg, a daily and different review of the ground-breaking coverage of the Games, challenging the perceptions of disability. The success of The Last Leg gave rise to Adam hosting Channel 4’s alternative to the Queen’s Christmas Day message at the end of last year – a first for an Australian.
Hills has been a prolific force on Australian TV – a five time Gold Logie nominee and host of two hit ABC1 shows, Spicks and Specks and Adam Hills In Gordon Street Tonight. But when Adam isn’t dominating the Australian TV landscape he is usually travelling in the world, mic in hand, in his day job as a globetrotting stand-up comedian.
Happyism is Adam’s long overdue, and highly anticipated, return to the stage at home in Australia, debuting at the iconic Princess Theatre during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He will also be back fronting ABC1’s Gordon Street Tonight later in the year. It’s only a matter of time before we lose Adam Hills to the world – so get in quick!

It is pretty well known that Pink loves Australia. In fact she loves Australia so much last time she was here her 20-show run turned into a three-month stay, filled with 58 sold out arena extravaganzas. Her gigs are like Vegas stage shows, complete with acrobatics, anti gravity yoga, stunts and off course her large catalogue of pop-rock tunes like 'So What', 'Sober' and 'Raise Your Glass'. As a result she's even got her own pose in anti-gravity yoga called the 'Pink Chandelier', which the Time Out team have almost mastered. If you want to catch Pink (again), she will be performing a bunch of dates around the country for her 'Truth About Love' tour.
