 Welcome to Rydges Perth Insider
Our online guide to the best that this marvelous city has to offer.
How do you describe Perth? – Remote! It’s certainly a long way from the Eastern seaboard and it’s true that a small number of dull and parochial secessionists seem to like it that way. Thankfully, the vast majority of residents are outward looking, invariably friendly and justifiably proud of their city. For the record we agree, Perth is a gem and any city which names a major freeway after a revered local AFL footballer has to be a good place to live.
The city enjoys a superb natural outlook, bisected by the Swan River and overlooking the Indian Ocean. The locals really know how to make the most of a benign and outdoor climate and embrace a healthy lifestyle with a vengeance. Famed beaches line the coast north to south and watching the sun dip over the horizon from any number of vantage points on a warm summer night remains one of life’s true joys.
The city has history and style yet retains a genuinely laid back atmosphere which is so refreshing for most visitors. The charms and attractions of Perth are many and varied. If you’d like a suggestion about good relaxed alfresco dining options, what to expect on a day trip to ‘Rotto’ or which bars are best to kick and back and enjoy a drink or two, we're happy to share our experiences and insights.
