A French-style farmers market held every Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon in Parnell. Matakana Farmer’s Market
Matakana Village, North Auckland Saturdays 9am-1pm An hour’s drive north of Auckland, but worth it. Beautiful, bountiful Matakana is undergoing something of a renaissance and is an increasingly popular weekend haunt for Aucklanders. Enjoy luscious fruit and vegetables, fine wines, boutique oils, beers and meats, then adjourn for coffee or lunch in one of the many cafes.
Otara Flea Market
Newbury Lane, Otara, Manukau City 6am – 12pm For a unique insight into the ‘real’ Auckland, head to the colourful, multi-cultural Otara markets in South Auckland. Here you’ll find Pacific Island, Maori, Asian and Pakeha (European) stalls selling a vast range of stuff at amazingly cheap prices - from traditional tapa cloth and ti vaevae (quilts), to street wear, jewellery, crafts, and of course, fresh produce and ethnic food galore.
