A long-term haunt of the business community, Il Centro sticks to its Italian roots, but with the occasional nod to the ‘Sunshine State’. It would be a rare sight indeed in the ‘Eternal City’ to see kangaroo on a menu of a trattoria. Long-term owners Andy and Marcia Georges expertly marshal their staff and the welcome and hospitality they offer is both genuine and affecting. Chef Romain Bapst continues to ‘rattle the pans’ with considerable and assured aplomb and his food is exemplary. The daytime ambience is business-like, but at night the mood lightens and its relaxed riverside setting comes to the fore
