With a rich history that reads like a cross between ‘The Adventures of Bazza Mackenzie’ & ‘They’re a Weird Mob’, the legendary Breakfast Creek Hotel has left an indelible mark upon this city. In 1895, a very drunken landlord, the city’s ex Lord Mayor, fell to his death from a second window, whilst in 1977 the pub’s erstwhile clientele managed to convince the then-owners, Castlelmaine Perkins Brewing, to keep supplying beer in wooden barrels rather than new fangled steel kegs, because they liked it that way. Still known for serving ‘beer on the wood’ this old fashioned ‘boozer’ with soul, integrity, an excellent beer garden and famous steaks is pure gold!!
