Roma Street Parklands

Ipod friendly guides | Email to a friend | Print article

Possibly not as famous as the South Bank Parklands, yet the Roma Street Parklands are the world’s largest urban sub tropical garden. If you are looking for a less commercial area in which to let the kids run wild, this is the spot. Spread over 16 hectares the parklands are a collection of themed and interlinked gardens.
Very popular amongst the locals and home to many community events, the park features an excellent collection of public art. Facilities include a kids’ playground, a licensed café and a visitor centre. We love it and it’s free.
