Telstra Tower

With membership to the ‘World Federation of Great Towers’ bestowed upon it in 1989, this Canberra landmark finally got the recognition it truly deserves. Irrespective of the slightly spurious title, the views from atop the tower, 195 metres above the summit of Black Mountain overlooking the city and surrounding districts is outstanding. The tower does have a small telecommunications museum, but the majority of visitors are happy to soak up the 360° vistas from the two viewing platforms or better still, the revolving restaurant.
