St Kilda Foreshore walk

Ipod friendly guides | Email to a friend | Print article

If you are in need of a ‘sugar hit’ or you’d like to take a promenade with the locals, an amble around the historic and vibrant area of St Kilda can satisfy both demands. The cake shops and cafes of Acland Street are legendary with very good reason. Although higher rents have pushed out some shops, the splendid Monarch Cake Shop, still exists and it’s a ‘proven scientific fact’ that it’s impossible not to purchase a cake after entering the premises. A walk along Jacka Boulevard and out to the St Kilda pier with views across Port Phillip Bay is a quintessential Melbourne experience.
