Going for Yum Cha is never about slick service, it’s all about noise and clatter, laughing with friends, trying to catch the waiter’s attention and keeping your emotions in check as the neighbouring tables seem to pile up with all the goodies never destined to reach you. Times have changed from when Sydney’s Yum Cha restaurants were really an excuse to enjoy a cold beer at 10.00am on a Sunday morning. This vast 800-seat restaurant does it as well as any and all manner of Cantonese favourites are on offer. The whole experience definitely works best if you come as a group.
