The Roxy

Ipod friendly guides | Email to a friend | Print article

Originally opened in the 1930s as a picture theatre, the Roxy’s amazing Spanish Mission style architecture is significant enough to ensure its protection by its listing on Australia’s National Trust.
In 2002, The Roxy, a real local icon, was completely transformed into a cutting edge entertainment complex that features two bars, a restaurant, nightclub and theatre space. The Street Bar that overlooks the courtyard is a relaxed choice whist the Roxy Lounge which draws a younger party crowd can and regularly does hold over 1000 people.
This venue is especially busy on weekend nights, but the Sunday
session is generally very chilled out.
