Museum of Sydney

Built upon the site of Australia’s first government house, the Museum of Sydney weaves the threads of this city’s rich past into a compelling journey. Rather than dusty exhibits in glass cases, this contemporary museum with its innovative, cutting edge architecture focuses upon Sydney’s transition from colonial settlement to the present modern day metropolis.

Located in the heart of the CBD, the viewing cube on level 3 still has a tantalising glimpse of the harbour. The excellent Police & Justice Museum is also close by on the corner of Albert & Phillip Sts. It’s easy to combine both and you can also get a coffee or something to eat at the MOS cafe.
