NRL Telstra Rugby League returns to Darwin on Saturday, August 9 when the Parramatta Eels take on the Canberra Raiders at TIO Stadium. The gates open at 3:30pm and the main match kicks off at 8:00pm.

There are two curtain raiser matches. The Women’s NTRL City V Country game kicks off at 3:45pm, followed by the NTRL Alice Springs V Katherine at 5:10pm.

This is Round 22 of the 2014 NRL season and getting close to the pointy end with just four more weekends of footy following this one before the finals. The Parramatta Eels are still in with a chance to make the final eight and when on song have provided some of the season’s most entertaining football, particularly when Jarryd Hayne steps up a notch. If there was an award for player of the year, he would have to be a contender, especially after his dazzling State of Origin performances. While the Eels would have to be favourites for this encounter it has been a year of upsets and when the Raiders are firing, those backs are hard to keep out.

Free buses will be operating to and from the ground courtesy of the Territory government and Rydges Darwin Airport Hotel and Rydges Darwin Airport Resort can look after all your accommodations needs.
