The Darwin Fringe Festival is an artist run festival that will take place from Thursday, July 17 until Sunday, August 10 and will feature art, music, theatre, dance, sculpture and film made by local artists.
A few years ago the annual Fringe Festival just up and disappeared. No one knows whether it took off on a holiday to Bali, or was buried in the new apartment blocks built on the mangroves of Old Darwin or got into a fight on Mitchell Street when it heard one too many cover songs. Whatever the reason, it is back in 2014 and brimming with creativity!
The objective of the Festival is to provide a platform for local Darwin artists across all art forms to share their work with the larger Darwin community.
The Darwin Fringe Festival is organised through a core committee of elected Artistic Directors who will oversee the activity within each medium. There is also a Festival Manager to oversee the main logistical dynamics of running the festival.
