A couple of terrific attractions adjacent to each other in Cairns…

Aboriginal-Culture-Park-Tjapukai-1The Skyrail Rainforest Cableway (top) was voted Australia’s best tourist attraction three years in a row. It is a gondola ride with boardwalk stops through the rainforest to Kuranda. It’s about an hour and a half one way and two and a half hours including the return. You can take the Kuranda Scenic Rail one way and then the Skyrail back to Cairns. Here is a link to the Skyrail website.

The Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is traditional and innovative and can captivate an audience with the simple lighting of a fire. There are day tours that include demonstrations of traditional hunting, didgeridoo playing, bush tucker and dance and night tours that take guests into Dreamtime for a night of entertainment.  Tjapukai is Australia's most awarded tourist attraction. Here is a link to the Tjapukai website.

You can base yourself in Cairns at Rydges Esplanade Resort, Rydges Tradewinds or Rydges Plaza,
