The Christchurch Airport Marathon will be held on Sunday, June 1 and will be centred at the event village on Orchard Road, within Christchurch Airport.

Christchurch Airport MarathonThe event consists of a full marathon (42.2km) run, half marathon (21.2km) run and walk, 10km run and walk and the Kids Mara'Fun (3k).

All events will start and finish facing south on Orchard Road. In the final 300m marshals and signs will direct participants into the finish chute.

Categories are divided into men and women competitors and the full and half marathon have the following age groups – open, under 20 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years, 60-69 years and 70+ years. The 10km run has junior (16-19 years) open and 40+ years categories. The Mara'Fun is caters for children aged 5 – 15 years. Additionally there are wheelchair categories in the full marathon, half marathon and 10km – men open and women open.

The event is traditionally held on Queen's Birthday weekend every year and is one of the world’s fastest and most scenic courses.
