You can catch The Hound of the Baskervilles at The Court Theatre until May 17. This play is, of course, written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle but adapted by Steven Canny and John Nicholson and it has been getting excellent reviews for a fun family night at the theatre.
As the publicity says, “Sherlock Holmes Goes Barking Mad!”
This is a slapstick comedy spoof with lots of laughs and mayhem that still manages to hold a line of mystery and suspense as the intrepid Holmes and his trusty sidekick Watson attempt to unravel the ancient curse of the Baskerville family before the Hound claims its next victim.
There are questions, there are answers… Will Sherlock get his man? Will Henry Baskerville get the girl? Will the Hound get its next victim? Will you be able to solve the case before the greatest detective of all time gets his turn?!
"Wonderfully barking spoof" - The Daily Telegraph.
"Gut-bustingly hilarious" - The Times.
“…the complexity of the whole caboodle is handled with such charm that the impossible, just as Sherlock claimed, can really happen, at least in the cause of laughter.” - Lindsay Clark, Theatreview.
The Court Theatre is located at the end of Bernard Street, off the Hagley Park end of Lincoln Road in Addington. On-site parking is available. For all your accommodation needs, Rydges Latimer Christchurch will give you the warmest of welcomes. It’s elementary…
