THE RYDGES POST

Television,Event ian 3/12/2013

The 2013 Logie nominations have been announced and far too many to list here – especially as your humble blogger doesn't recognise a lot of the soapie folk but there are a few people who should start preparing speeches methinks…

Nominees for the Gold Logie (Most Popular Personality on TV) are Adam Hills (ABC1), Andy Lee (Nine Network), Asher Keddie (Network Ten), Carrie Bickmore (Network Ten), Hamish Blake (Nine Network), Steve Peacocke (Channel Seven)…

Hmm… I’m a fan of Adam Hills and Carrie Bickmore but I think Hamish Blake has his name on it… those three are also contenders for Most Popular Presenter

Most Popular Actor -  A gross injustice if Lachie Hulme doesn’t walk away with that one for Howzat!

Most Popular Actress -  Probably Rebecca Gibney, possibly Deborah Mailman…

Most Popular New Male Talent… Joel Madden for The Voice (sort of a ‘welcome to Australian residency' award)…

Most Popular New Female Talent - Annabel Crabb – I like her intelligence, humour, sexiness, insight and control…

Most Popular Drama Series - Probably Packed to the Rafters but Home and Away is a real stayer and continues to reinvent itself…

Most Popular Miniseries or TelemovieBeaconsfield was good, Bikie Wars was adequate, Underbelly: Badness solid within the formula, Underground: The Julian Assange Story slipped through to the keeper… Howzat! by an innings and then some.

Most Popular Light Entertainment Program – I like Gruen Planet but favourite is probably Hamish & Andy's Euro Gap Year

Most Popular Lifestyle Program - I avoid them all but will give it to Better Homes And Gardens for at least trying hard…

Most Popular Sports Program – I give it to Paralympics London 2012 – inspiring and attitude changing…

Most Popular Reality Program Has to be My Kitchen Rules, doesn’t it?

Most Popular Factual Program –(SIGH) I’ll lose this one – not keen on vets, rescues, surgical procedures or people smuggling stuff through Customs, so I’m giving it to Who Do You Think You Are on SBS…

The Logie Hall of Fame inductee is yet to be announced.  I would like to see a posthumous award this year, to the late, great Peter Harvey.
