Daniel Quitto – Sous Chef – Rydges Parramatta - in his own words...
My name is Daniel Quitto and I am the new Sous Chef at Rydges Parramatta. I'm super excited to be joining the award winning Steeds Club Grill & Bar team. I look forward to making it the 'go to' place where you can come in and experience our 900+gram famous “Tomahawk” Steak!
I have been asked to give you a brief background about myself – without getting too big a head! - I have an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality plus Cert 3 in Commercial cookery & I have a real passion for chocolate work and I reckon I could give Willy Wonka a run for his money.
I started my apprenticeship at the Hilton and I was there for 2 years, I then moved on to several signature Restaurants including, 'The Atrium' on Castlereagh, 'The Harbourview Hotel' followed by 3 ½ years at the 'Westin' Hotels - 1 Chef Hatted Restaurant 'Mosaic'. I also hold a very high score on Singstar ;-)
During my career I have been lucky enough to cook for a lot of celebrities Sir Simon Cox – GM Rydges Parramatta, Prince Fredrick and Princess Mary, Bill Clinton, The Sultan of Brunei, John Howard, Will Smith and his family, Jimmy Barnes, Richard Branson and Ainsley Harriot.
After working many years in the City and being brought up on steak and 3 veg (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I decided I wanted to bring my skill set to the “Mighty West”. Since then I have been showing the people of the West that you don't have to travel to the City to get great food and now my culinary quest continues at Rydges Parramatta (where the food is already great)!
