Nicknamed Nature’s Spa of the South Pacific, this region knows how to spoil its visitors. Blissfully soak in the healing waters of hot springs, unwind with a therapeutic spa or massage, or ease aches and pains with a mud wrap.

Mud is sourced from local geothermal resorts and allows local spa therapy centres and therapeutic thermal pools to provide a unique service. Rotorua’s wellness centres are up there with the best. Maori massages are also available and this is a unique way to experience New Zealand’s culture, history and traditions.

In 1908, Rotorua’s Bath House (now the museum) opened as a therapeutic spa centre called the Great South Seas Spa so for over a century the city has been a centre for rejuvenation and relaxation.

And, of course, Rydges Hotel Rotorua has Deluxe Spa rooms and Spa Suites.
