stevejamesprofileSteven James knows the ropes at Rydges.  Five years ago Steven started in Concierge, then he moved to the front desk and then came a promotion to Duty Manager and he has now been appointed Rydges South Bank Banquets Operations Manager.

This is NOT a job for the faint-hearted or those not able to multi-task.  Steven oversees a team of 65 staff with a hands-on approach.

“One day we will be doing a corporate breakfast for 200 people and a lunch for 150 in 5 separate rooms,” Steven said. “Five hours later we might be doing a wedding for 250 people in one function space and a 3 course dinner for 400 people in another.”

Reminds me of the quote attributed to Michael Caine - “Be like a duck, calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath”
