Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel
It’s Footy Final Fever time in the NRL – it was a strange final round in some ways with two of the Top Four looking decidedly flat – Storm were lucky to get away with a one-point win over the Gold Coast Titans (Titans should have won with a bad decision on a disallowed try) and the Penrith Panthers thumped the Manly Sea Eagles.
The most impressive were three of the last four to make up the final eight – The North Queensland Cowboys handed out a humiliating 50 to 22 hiding to the Wests Tigers, the Newcastle Knights slammed the poor old Parramatta Eels 54 to 6 and the Cronulla Sharks clinically took care of the Canberra Raiders 38 to 18.
In the first elimination game this week the Cowboys travel south to take on the Sharks at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park (kick off at 4:00pm Saturday with the Sea Eagles and Roosters match to follow at 7:00pm). An 'away' game shouldn't worry the Cowboys and the likes of Thurston and Bowen should worry the Sharks.
