Billy Connolly’s High Horse Tour rolls into Wellington on May 11 and May 12 at the TSB Bank Arena (Queens Wharf). No one in the world can mount a funny high horse like Billy – the Sunday show starts at 8:00pm and the Monday show at 9:30pm.
Mr Connolly has been wowing audiences in New Zealand with his live stand up since 1978 and with every visit the fan base grows. On his last visit, more than 60,000 fans flocked to his sell-out shows. He is by far and away New Zealand’s favourite international comedian and he won’t disappoint on this tour.
Billy has the most remarkable observational and inquiring mind and the ability to seek out humour in even the darkest of places. Last year he was given the news that he had both cancer and Parkinson’s on the same day and that still gave him reason to laugh because there is a fine line between laughter and despair. Following surgery he was given the all clear on the prostate cancer front but Parkinson’s Disease will be part of his make-up for life. I would expect a little self-deprecating dark but hilarious observations on these two events!
If you are travelling from out of town to catch this special evening, Rydges Wellington can look after all your accommodation needs and/or is perfectly located for a pre-show drink of meal.
