THE RYDGES POST
It’s a good day to swear, men…
Monday, November 25, is White Ribbon Day and there are events all around the country. White Ribbon Day was started by men but it is all about women – the day is devoted to changing “the attitudes and behaviours that lead to and perpetuate men's violence against women, by engaging boys and men to lead social change.”
To find where blokes will be gathering to bond, have a bit of fun and swear in your neck of the woods, head to www.WhiteRibbonDay.org.au – and if you can’t get to one of the events, still head to the website and take the oath online. It’s a very simple oath but, sadly, one that some males just don’t understand – the pledge is “never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women”.
