The Eagles are landing in Sydney in March 2015 and have two concerts at two venues. On Monday, March 2 they play the Sydney Entertainment Centre (now called the Qantas Credit Union Arena) and on Wednesday, March 4 they play Allphones Arena. Tickets for both concerts go on sale to the general public at 10:00am on June 10 through www.Ticketek.com.au.
The tour is called The History of the Eagles – fortunately that history will be served concurrently by the members from 1971 – if their ages were laid end to end the band would date back to 1544, twenty years before Shakespeare was born!
The original band members will not all be on this tour because of ill-health in one case and an ongoing legal stoush over royalties/profits with another BUT the band line-up that will tour is certainly a beauty – Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmitt.
The six-time Grammy winners have promised three-hour arena concerts and they won’t be scratching for familiar songs that include Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, Take it Easy, Desperado, Lyin’ Eyes, Tequila Sunrise, Take It to the Limit, New Kid in Town, Heartache Tonight etc etc. Their Greatest Hits 1971 - 1975 record is the equal top selling album in the US of all time (with Michael Jackson’s Thriller). Their seventh studio album Long Road Out of Eden also topped the US album charts (and Australian) in 2007. That is some history! You could stab this band with a steely knife but still not kill the beast!
If you are travelling from out of town to catch this History of The Eagles concert event, Rydges Hotels can look after all your accommodation needs near the Qantas Credit Union Arena (Ent Centre) at Rydges World Square or Sydney Central and Rydges Parramatta is only minutes from Allphones with a bus shuttle to and from the arena available as part of a meal/accommodation package.
