The Crocodile Trophy
Exploring the Tablelands, Cairns and surrounds the Crocodile Trophy takes cycling to another level. Stretching over 17th-25th October this outback adventure covering over 700kms of track will test and strengthen the abilities of each participant.
Entry fees include camping, food, drink, repairs on bicycles, starter pack, and finishing Crocodile trophy for each person who crosses the finish line.

Tastes of the Tablelands Festival
Atherton will once again host the Tastes of the Tablelands Festival on October 18th 2015 at the Chinese Temple Grounds on Herberton Road. Head along to this family friendly event from 9.00am to 4.00pm to experience all that the Tropical North has too offer.
Adults are only $8.00 and children are FREE. There will be fresh produce, markets, food stall, cooking demonstrations, competitions, entertainment and much, much more.

Tableland Folk Festival 2015
The Tablelands Folk Festival is back for 2015 between October 22nd and 25th.
It is the longest running folk festival in Queensland and this year promises to offer a fantastic line up including; Andy 'Sugarcane' Collins, Mzaza, Formidable Vegetable Sound System, The Timbers, Kamerunga, The Reversals, Bruce Watson and many, many more.
This event held annually in Yungaburra heritage village is surrounded by rainforest and crater lakes, featuring entertainment on five stages, showcasing music such as; Australian Folk, Country Folk, Celtic, Irish, Bluegrass, Jazz, Latin, Gypsy Swing, Flamenco and Reggae.

Fun in the Sun Festival 2015
The Fun in the Sun Festival is back! This October 25th head to Fogarty Park on Cairns Esplanade to celebrate all things local, sustainable and FUN!

Tanks Arts Centre Market Day
The Tanks Arts Center Sunday Markets have returned for 2014!
Held on the last Sunday of every month between April and November at the Tanks Arts Centre in the Cairns Botanic Gardens Precinct; the markets showcase a range of local arts and crafts, fresh produce, natural health products, collectables, and vintage clothing.
Set amid the lush, tropical surrounds of the Flecker Botanical Gardens with live entertainment, workshops and art exhibitions, the markets showcase the unique culture and life of the tropics. This free event from 9.00am to 2.00pm is a family friendly and relaxing way to enjoy a Sunday morning.
Great Barrier Reef Marathon Festival
The Cane Growers Great Barrier Reef Marathon held in Port Douglas offers a course like no other incorporating stunning vistas of the Coral Sea, the tropical surrounds of the rainforest and flat plains of the cane fields, truly a one of a kind course.
There are a range of events to choose from for all abilities:

Port Douglas Marlin Challenge
Port Douglas will once again host the Marlin Challenge between 5th - 8th November 2015.
This fishing competition often attracts anglers from all over Australia and internationally after all it's not called the Marlin Coast for nothing!
Registrations and payments are due by 31st October and briefing for the event will be on November 4th.

ANZAC Day is commemorated in Cairns with the dawn parade from 5.30am with wreath laying at the Cairns Cenotaph on Cairns Esplanade (opposite Cairns RSL). 2015 represents the 100th year anniversary of the ANZAC's landing in Gallipoli.
The Commemoration Parade will leave from Fogarty Park on Cairns Esplanade at 9.15am and proceed along the Esplanade to Munro Martin Park. This will then be followed by an Observance Ceremony from 9.30am at Munro Martin Park.
Lest we forget...
