Aquatic exercise is a low impact, effective, and fun way to get fit, burn calories, strengthen joints and bones and reduce stress. Aqua aerobics increases general well being with little or no impact and you don't even have to be able to swim!

Feast of the Senses Inc
The Feast of the Senses is North Queensland’s premier tropical food event! Showcasing the amazing variety of exotic tropical fruits, produce, seafood and meats found in Far North Queensland. It is like no other festival in Australia and is truly a feast for all of your senses!
Tropical produce is the hero of the festival and over the 10 day program visitors will be able to see, touch, taste, and smell the amazing fruit and food that comes from this vibrant region.
Held in March each year the programme incorporates food events, farm trails, art, photography, cooking competitions and culminates in a huge market day extravaganza on Sunday from 9.00am to 3.00pm showcasing all the local produce.

Earth Hour 2014
Earth Hour is back for 2014, encouraging millions of people across the globe to turn off non-essential lighting for 1 hour from 8.30pm on 29th March to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.
However Earth Hour goes much further than just one hour by uniting the globe community and inspiring us to make big and small changes to our daily habits that are changing the world we live in.

A dawn parade is held from 5.30am with wreath laying at the Cairns Cenotaph on Cairns Esplanade (opposite Cairns RSL). The Commemoration Parade will be at 9.15am from Fogarty Park along the Esplanade to Munro Martin Park, followed by an Observance Ceremony from 9.30am at Munro Martin Park.
Bliss N Eso Circus Under the Star Tour
Sydney based Hip Hop trio; Bliss N Eso are heading to Cairns for the Circus Under the Stars Tour on April 26th from 5.00pm.
The 'Circus Under the Stars' tour will see Bliss N Eso perform in open air arenas in 15 locations across Australia, with Fogarty Park on the Esplanade the location for their Cairns performance.
The event is sure to please with fans likely to hear many of the groups new songs from their #1 album; 'Circus in the Sky' as well as old favourites and fantastic supporting acts; Horrorshow and Seth Sentry.

Tanks Arts Centre Market Day
The Tanks Arts Centre Sunday Markets are back for 2014! Held on the last Sunday of every month between April and November at the Tanks Arts Centre in the Cairns Botanic Gardens Precinct; the markets showcase a range of local arts and crafts, fresh produce, natural health products, collectables, and vintage clothing.
Set amid the lush, tropical surrounds of the Flecker Botanical Gardens with live entertainment, workshops and art exhibitions, the markets showcase the unique culture and life of the tropics. This free event from 9.00am to 2.00pm is a family friendly and relaxing way to enjoy a Sunday morning.

Food, Wine & A Taste of Port
Food, Wine & A Taste of Port is the premier social and cuisine event of Port Douglas Carnivale, and takes place seaside under striking illuminated palm fronds on the foreshore of Rex Smeal Park.
The region's best restaurants are represented, with stunning menus and the choicest of Australian and International beverages.
As well as the food and the wine, there is a fabulous line up of entertainment on the main stage with local talent and a huge headline act, as well as some fantastic prizes to be won.

Babinda Harvest Festival
The Babinda Harvest Festival is an annual Babinda event. In this sugar town, it celebrates the start of the sugarcane harvest (mid June), as well as celebrating the harvesting of other tropical produce from our region – bananas, pawpaws, tropical flowers and vanilla to name a few.
Celebrate with the community by attending the street parade and cheer as decorated floats and marching groups parade along the decorated main street. Follow the parade to the Babinda showgrounds for a wonderful evening of country fair displays, competitions, amusements & rides, followed by one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in the North with a bar and band until midnight.

Cairns Airport Adventure Festival 2014

Cairns Ukulele Festival
The Cairns Ukulele Festival is an exciting and eclectic multi-arts festival celebrating a love for all things Ukulele! Held in Tropical North Queensland in Cairns; the festival runs over one week offering a number of events such as free and ticketed performances, an art exhibition, a mystery tour, ukulele building classes, and a world record attempt for the largest ukulele ensemble.
The 2014 festival will take place from 3rd to 6th July and will appeal to music lovers of all ages. Featuring world-class national and international acts and a diverse range of activities in a fun, friendly and inclusive atmosphere the Cairns Ukulele Festival is not to be missed!

Cairns Underwater Film Festival
The 8th annual Cairns Underwater Film Festival will be held on August 30th at the Cairns Civic Theatre. The festival showcases work from local and international photographers and film makers, offering a glimpse into the diverse and natural beauty of our underwater ecosystems.
The competition offers both experienced and novice photographers and film makers the chance to delight spectators with world-class imagery in multiple categories including; wide angle, macro, diver(s), young photographer (under 16 years) and international.
As the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns offers plenty of opportunities for incredible underwater imagery and the Cairns Underwater Film Festival is an ideal way to celebrate the natural beauty on our doorstep.

Cairns Amateurs 2014
The Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival is four days of fun, fashion, glamour, food and entertainment built around two days of horse racing in Cairns in early September each year.
Operated by the Far North Queensland Amateur Turf Club Inc., their event has become widely, and affectionately, known as "The Cairns Amateurs". The Cairns Amateurs is complemented by a host of social activities, some formal and some very informal including a number of Members-only and corporate functions as well as events and areas for the general public on both race days.
The beautiful mild September climate entices large crowds of locals as well as interstate visitors.
