Nomad Safaris operates 4WD tours using our fleet of modern Land Rover Defenders and luxurious Range Rovers. With either half or full day tours, Nomad Safaris offers off road adventures around the Queenstown area. Nomad Safaris 4WD tours encompass everything from Lord of the Rings tours to historical gold mining tours. Our 4WD tours explore locations around the Wakatipu basin, including Arrowtown, Glenorchy and Paradise and backcountry locations such as Skippers and Macetown.

Your specially trained and knowledgeable guide will help you explore this beautiful area and discover key LOTR filming locations. These guided tours offer a real off road adventure in the world famous Land Rover Defender. Small groups with a maximum of 6 clients per driver/guide mean you will receive a personal experience and attention to detail not found with other operators.

Let your guide show you historical gold mining areas around the Wakatipu and pan for gold in some of the richest gold bearing rivers in the world.

Quads

For a true off road adventure Nomad Quad Safaris is the guided ATV tour with a difference. This half day tour gives you an experience not found in any 4×4. Full training on the Quad Bike makes this experience available to all levels of ability. Exclusive commercial access to Queenstown Hill means you will be shown spectacular 360 degree views that very few visitors are fortunate enough to experience.
