Air New Zealand 75 Years
On 30 April 1940, a flight from Auckland to Sydney marked the first scheduled air link between New Zealand and the rest of the world. Air New Zealand 75 Years tells the story of how that fledgling flight led to what is today an award winning international airline.
Let this dynamic, interactive exhibition take you through the decades – from flying boats to the very latest Dreamliner aircraft, and into the future. Explore inspiring stories of the airline’s growth and innovation, and experience the highs and lows along the way, through the lens of Air New Zealanders themselves.

Gallipoli: The Scale of Our War
To mark the World War 1 centenary, Te Papa has joined forces with Weta Workshop to bring you Gallipoli: The scale of our war. Experience the triumphs and countless tragedies of this 8-month campaign through the eyes and words of the ordinary New Zealanders who were there.
Explore the emotional and physical toll of the campaign through the eyes of real people who were there: eight ordinary New Zealanders struggling through extraordinary circumstances.

The Great War Exhibition
The Great War Exhibition, created by Sir Peter Jackson, commemorates the very significant part that New Zealand played in the First World War.
The visitor will journey through the war, year by year, seeing the challenges that emerged. The journey is rich in personal stories which tell of the gritty experience of the battlefields and the hardships at home during war-time New Zealand. The visitor will experience the desperate horrors and the triumphs of the human spirit that were part of the Great War.
The Great Hall of Wellington’s historic Dominion Museum houses the Exhibition that depicts the world-wide story of the war in chronological order, exploring the changing face of the conflict as it affected those who fought it from 1914-1918.

Royal New Zealand Ballet presents Salute
The Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) in collaborataion with the New Zealand Army Band and distinguished New Zealand composers and choreographers Dwayne Bloomfield, Gareth Farr, Neil Ieremia and Andrew Simmons, present a special programme of works to mark the centenary of the Gallipoli landings.
Alongside classic pieces by Johan Kobborg (Salute, New Zealand premiere), Neil Ieremia and Andrew Simmons will create two world premieres. Don't miss out on what is sure to be a very special event.

FIFA U-20 World Cup Fever Pitch
Celebrate the FIFA U-20 World Cup at Wellington's Fever Pitch fan hub!
The city is setting up a full-sized football pitch in Civic Square, with celebrities, ambassadors and kids taking to the field in a series of exciting matches - and you can join the action too! Have a go at the inflatable goals, get your face painted and photo taken, all while soaking up local and global sounds.
Six-time FIFA U-20 World Cup champions, Argentina, will be playing four matches in Wellington alongside Panama, Austria and Ghana. Join us in welcoming our visiting teams as the city hosts themed national days in their honour, before Wellington's first double header on 30 May.
Celebrate each nation with delicious treats like an Argentine BBQ; Ghanaian dark chocolate; Panama’s national dish, Sancocho; and Vienna coffee at Fever Pitch. Plus, there will be plenty of entertainment for you too!

TEDxWellingtonWomen is a locally organised, not-for-profit event that will dedicate half a day to celebrating gender and diversity in our wonderful, windy city. Curated by an all female team, TEDxWellingtonWomen is a 100% volunteer project that invites both males and females to come along and listen to inspiring X chromosome-related ideas from both local and national change-makers. This is the only event of its kind in New Zealand!

FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015
This May, the biggest celebration of global football comes to Wellington - the FIFA Under 20 World Cup. On 30th May Westpac Stadium hosts a double header featuring:
16:00 MATCH 3 - B1 vs. B2* and 19:00 MATCH 4 - B3 vs. B4*
Teams will be decided at the Official Draw Ceremony on 10th February 2015.

Globe Theatre presents Hamlet
If you’ve never been lucky enough to travel to London’s historic Globe Theatre, you are in for a treat - the great theatre company is coming to Wellington!
Nestled between the steel bridges and skyscrapers of modern day London sits the world’s most iconic theatre, The Globe. Every year hundreds of thousands of theatre fans from around the world flock there to experience Shakespeare’s plays as they were intended – rowdy, fun and full of life.
Now for the first time, the Globe Theatre will visit New Zealand with its Globe to Globe world tour of Hamlet. This theatrical adventure, directed by Artistic Director Dominic Dromgoole, aims to take Hamlet to every country in the world. The show’s international cast includes New Zealand’s own Rāwiri Paratene (Whale Rider).
