Runway 16R Landing: Walking to the landing from Rydges Sydney Airport hotel will take about 10 minutes heading west of the domestic terminal. Guests of the hotel can get to the domestic terminal quicker by utilising our free shuttle service. If you are driving or getting to this landing by taxi, come along Qantas Drive east/southbound until you see a small gate. The best time to go is 6-11 a.m.
Lady Robinson’s Beach: Travelling by car would be best for this spot. Cross the airport tunnel on route 1 General Holmes Drive (Rockdale, Brighton Le Sands bound), then turn left after you see a road sign. You can watch from the car park or from further in if you walk five minutes. Best time to go is around 1 p.m.
Barton Park Hill: Travelling by car would be best for this spot as well. Drive on Qantas Drive westbound heading to Rockdale. Turn left onto West Botany Street until you see Barton Golf Course entrance. Enter and drive up until the end. Best time to go is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
End of Runway: Walking from Rydges Sydney Airport hotel will take about 15 minutes from the domestic terminal. Best time to go is anytime during the day except for early morning and late afternoon.
Tower Mound (Sheps Mound): Travelling by car would be best for this spot. Drive city bound on General Holmes Drive. Exit left at the BP service station and keep straight for 100 meters. You can park right under the tower. Best time to go is when the sun is at its brightest, so any time up until noon.
