THE RYDGES POST
If you are heading to our national capital before December 22 you can catch up with a lot of glass that has a lot of class…there are exhibitions, workshops, courses and even glass flowers to celebrate spring and Floriade.
Canberra Glassworks is proud to present 100 Days of Glass over the course of this Centenary year. Events include exhibitions, classes for children and adults, residencies, artist talks and demonstrations in the Hotshop.
Highlights of the program include exhibitions featuring the art of indigenous artists working in glass and the facilitation of a workshop introducing new glass practices and processes to artists from the Pilbara, connecting with the Big hART program - Yijala Yala Project Community Exchange.
Visitors can try their hand at glass making in the Off-the-Street, Hands on Glass program on weekends. Entry is free and the gallery opens Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. More info here: www.canberraglassworks.com
