THE RYDGES POST
At Rydges our teams are made up of many and varied people who have many and varied interests. We have Thai folk dancers, darts champions and fire jugglers. And who knows what they get up to outside work?! Our staff members work in all sorts of areas like reservations, food & beverage, sales & marketing, housekeeping, maintenance and even management. Some make decisions on advertising, some look after valet parking and some fold the toilet paper into that welcoming little triangle. And every person on staff has one thing in common – they are all important cogs in the Rydges wheel that goes round and round and round to make our guests our number one priority. We thought you might like to meet some of our people…
Today, meet Rydges Sydney Airport’s Rob & Air.
Rob works in maintenance at Rydges Sydney Airport as our Building Manager and we thought we’d have a quick chat.
So Rob, what things do you like?
Healthy food and spending time with my family…
Anything you dislike?
Violence and war…
What do you like to do on the weekend?
Spend time with the family, walking…
What is the favourite part of your job?
When I see the look on peoples face in amazement when I fix something and they ask “How did you do that?”
What’s your favourite part of the area?
The Airport is awesome…
Do you have a ‘thing’?
Well, I have a Blue Belt in Karate and will be moving onto a Green Belt soon…
What sort of music do you listen to?
Nessun Dorma by Pavarotti and Bach, Air on a G String.
We thought we had better point out that Bach’s Air on a G String is from the composer’s third orchestral suite in D Major. And you can listen to it here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2j-frfK-yg - it has absolutely nothing to do with our next guest who, coincidentally, has the name, Air…
Air is a Team Leader at Rydges Sydney Airport...

I love friendly and helpful people.
I dislike lazy people!
What do you like to do on the weekends?
I loves working on the weekend and enjoys my days off during the week.

Setting up the buffet for lunch and using my making coffee skills..
And finally, what sort of music do you listen to?
