What sort of music can you expect at the National Folk Festival in Canberra? Does eclectic and multifaceted cover the genres that make up acoustic, blues, roots, traditional, bluegrass, world, Celtic, gypsy and country?
This festival is a celebration of traditional and contemporary life and music from high-end acts to grassroots and participatory events. Over 200 acts will perform along with dance, film, craft and circus. There are international acts and top Australian acts weaving in and out of a festival atmosphere of fun, food and entertainment.
The National Folk Festival runs from Thursday April 17 to Monday April 21 across 20 different venues with the focus on Exhibition Park (corner of Flemington Road and Federal Highway).
