It is very much a case of jazz in June at the Opera House with some sensational local and international acts appearing from June 5 to 8.
Wellington Jazz Festival is now a yearly fixture in the city’s winter events mix. The capital’s Cuba Quarter, home of vintage stores, cool cafes and boutique bars will be even more lively this week/weekend. Head to Wellington for a mid-winter culture hit, enhanced by great music, food, wines and craft beers.
The festival features major international headliners as well as top local musicians, with festivities spilling out onto the streets. Acts include the Joshua Redman Quartet from the USA, Pablo Ziegler from Argentina, Chick Corea in duet with Gary Burton, both from the USA, The Tom Jobin Songbook (Beyond Ipanema), Dawn of Midi plus the Larry Carlton Quartet, both from the USA and local headliners Bella Kalolo and the Soul Symphony and the Rodger Fox Big Band of New Zealand.
And a quick mention that Ellie Goulding is performing at the TSB Bank Arena on Monday, June 9.
