Very comfortable room with a great view.

Have regularly stayed in all the Brisbane Rydges Hotels, however our overnight on Friday 12 October at Southbank was one of our most memorable. Smooth check-in and check-out and bonus upgrade allowed us to experience a suite which was just fabulous. The room presentation, decor, provisions, appearance was very impressive; so much so we just had to open that bottle of bubbles in the fridge to celebrate our arrival and our upgrade.

Great location, good size rooms. As we had an interconnected room we unfortunately had noisy neighbours who would come back to room late each night and talk loudly. Not Rydges fault but something to keep in mind. Housekeeping very friendly but we found front reception to be abrupt and not friendly.The first day we checked in, I went to open the sliding wardrobe and the wheel came off and door fell towards me. Fortunately it wasn’t my kids! I called immediately, reception said they would send maintenance but no one ever came. On check out -reception tried to charge me for a takeaway cup from mini bar, no idea what this was, and def did not take or use one. I didn’t appreciate reception tone or insinuating I had taken it. We will stay at Novotel or Mantra again but won’t stay at this Rydges.

I was really disappointed tbh. My partner and I regularly stay at hotels in Brisbane for weekends away and Rydges was by far the most disappointing experience. The check in was average and we only received one discount drink card which we later went to use at the bar and was advised promptly by a little upstart serving at the bar that we could only get one free drink ... we then had dinner in the cafe downstairs near the bar area and purchased the most saddest looking cheese platter for $20 with I dried fig and 3 shrivelled up apricots and not even remotely enough crackers to eat with the cheese. Check out was just as bad... our car seemed to not arrive and then the concierge appeared to get testy at my partner and I .. as if it were somehow our fault. $40 for parking overnight as well!! Then the 3 men working in the valet parking area watched as I carried 3 big bags to my vehicle without any of them even so much as offering to help. Overall very disappointed with my experience. It’ll be the last time I stay there.

I couldn't fault our stay at Rydges in South Bank. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a slight hiccup at the end of our stay when our car battery was flat and the staff were more than helpful, they looked after us and sorted out the problem. Thank you.

Service was good, concierge was very good. I normally do not complain about minor details, however on this occasion, I have a gripe for a number of reasons. Firstly the room allocated to me on the first floor beside the pool and entertainment area was very unacceptable to me. I had a choice to stay elsewhere for less money than the fees you were charging me on this visit and I was given the worst room available (location wise), The following day I asked if I could be moved to another area of the hotel away from the pool and entertainment area and was told by your front desk person (can't remember her name) that I would have to pay an additional $40 a night. I found this unacceptable considering I stay there 3 to 4 nights every month and have been doing so for a number of years, let alone staying at your affiliate hotels around the country. My working day starts with me having to rise about 5:00 a.m. and being a reasonably light sleeper, all the noise emanating from the entertainment area till 12:00 midnight kept me awake. My stay is for business not a holiday. My preference in my profiles is for a quiet room. On this occasion I did not get a quiet room and your staff member did not attempt to adequately accommodate a loyal and long serving customer. Most disappointed. Regards George.

Unfortunately, only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Great service, very spacious room (received an upgrade to a junior suite) with an amazing view of Brisbane. The room had all the amenities you could want and a most comfortable bed. Will definitely come back again!

My wife and I stay at Rydges at south brisbane on a regular basis as she has medical appointments on the terrace in Brisbane we have found Rydges very handy, close to railway, and we get looked after very well

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great location when arriving by airport link train- just remember that it’s better to get off at South Brisbane and not South Bank. Close to a huge variety of eateries, South Bank parklands itself and the theatre complex- you don’t need a car and even the city is only a 15 min walk across the river.

3 friends of 45 years revisiting their teenage times by attending "Beautiful. The Carol King Story". Rydges South Bank made it memorable with a fabulous room, exceptional service and the perfect location for QPAC. Pre theatre Champagne in Soleil, the roof top bar was an excellent way to start. Albeit a little chilly the numerous heaters made for a cosy experience. A 5 minute walk had us at the show with time to spare. Walking home saw us having a nightcap in a bar close to the hotel. Quite a few in this buzzing area. Breakfast was outstanding! So many choices with friendly staff bringing your freshly made coffee. Thank you for our tasting plate of handmade chocolates to commemorate our " Beautiful" experience. All 3 of us have now changed our previous Brisbane hotels to Rydges as our destination in the CBD. We will be most definitely recommending it to family & friends

One of the best and most comfortable hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff are great and the Junior Suite we stayed in was roomy and had a fantastic veiw of Brisbane river and the city. The beds are also super comfortable and the mini kitchen is a nice touch.

This is my first stay at Ridges, and possibly the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. Not only is the accommodation first class, the staff and management were delightful.

I stay here whenever I'm in Brisbane, and it never disappoints. Great for business and leisure, due to proximity to CBD and Southbank. Front of house staff are professional, helpful and swift with car parking and check-in. Rooms are modern and very comfortable.

In the heart of South Brisbane, next to all theatres etc...city beach a couple of minutes walk. Plenty of food options within walking distance. Rooms very comfortable and modern with comfy beds. public transport to take you into Brisbane by either train or bus. Room rates are in line with other accommodation options in area.

Rydges Southbank is my favorite hotel in Brisbane. I stay there regularly and it is like a second home. The front office staff are most welcoming and the welcome note from the General Manager is very much appreciated. I look forward to my next stay at the end of the month.

Travelled to Brisbane for a concert at the Exhibition Centre and stayed here for 2 nights in a river view room. Fantastic location for restaurants and sightseeing. Had breakfast in the hotel cafe downstairs both days and thought it was great value. Brisbane CBD is a 20 minute walk across the river and we spent the day walking the whole CBD & Southbank areas. The river view room was modern, clean and very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

I rented two rooms for myself, daughter and grandson. The rooms were very comfortable and we had a nice view from the 11th floor. Great location in Southbank. My grandson enjoyed the big park and swimming lagoon, my daughter and I enjoyed the local restaurants and the hotel is within walking distance of the Lyric Theatre where we say Aladdin and the museums. I plan to stay there again in July when my husband and I see Beautiful

Myself and my son who is confined to a motorised wheelchair can’t speak highly enough of this hotel. We have stayed here for many years as my son often has medical appointments requiring stays in the city. The staff bend over backwards to ensure that we always have the best possible stay. Nothing is too much trouble, they have even assisted in helping me to fix my sons wheelchair and the various equipment that he requires. The wheelchair accessible room is very spacious, the bathroom is terrific and the staff even switch out the bed legs to enable my sons hoist to fit under the bed. We had a family wedding to attend a couple of years ago over the north side of Brisbane and concierge even organised a wheelchair accessible vehicle through their chauffeur service to transport us there and back! Nothing is ever too much trouble and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who may have limited mobility or special needs, we can’t speak highly enough and always look forward to returning! We recommend this hotel and their staff at every opportunity.

Our recent stay (22nd April) to celebrate our 40th Anniversary was simply great! Well appointed room with great views of the city and in an ideal location. And although very busy staff in all departments where very polite, friendly and helpful. Special mention the front desk lady's on checkout for the way in which they handled an issue with a gift sent by a friend to help us celebrate. Handled very professionally and much appreciated by all concerned. This Hotel is highly recommended for business and pleasure.

If you require a well appointed room for 2 Adults and 1 Granddaughter (11) you can not go past the Junior Suite. These rooms have been refurbished to a high standard. Being so close to QPAC it is hard to stay anywhere else at Southbank.

Talk about Luxury! Upon arrival an attendant parks your car and helps with your luggage, which is followed by a very welcoming reception that couldn't be any more helpful! The accommodation can not be faulted and the atmosphere is excellent! The flexibility of being able to order dinner after an event at 1130pm is faultless! For these reasons and many more we love staying at the Rydges!

We needed a room at very short notice and one was prepared quickly and happily even though they had been fully booked. The room was fresh, clean and very comfortable.

This is the second time that I have stayed at the Rydges South Bank hotel. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the pool and pool bar was very relaxing, sufficient gym, spa and sauna area and good food options for lunch and dinner. The rooms are spacious, modern, and the bed was very comfortable. On my first stay early to mid 2017, I thought that the breakfast buffet had some Asian noodles and some other hot dishes besides the normal hot breakfast, however the breakfast this time was still very good, especially the bacon. I will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a hotel conveniently located to all areas of Brisbane whether it is for business or on holidays. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and had 2 business colleges stay on Monday the 16th as well and this was based on my first stay in 2017. My Mum and I stumbled across Rydges hotel South Bank in Brisbane and thank goodness we did! We loved it. We even extended our stay another night because it was that good. We had checked out of another hotel due to poor service and abuse, which claimed to be five star, but truly they don't know five star until they learn from Rydges South Bank! From the seamless check in and out process, to the exceptional fine dining experience at Bacchus Restaurant (we had dinner and two breakfasts there it was that good) to the spectacular city and river views, I now have found my hotel of choice in Brisbane. The location and décor is stunning, the customer service exceptional and the rooms well appointed with sumptuous beds to laze in. The staff even went out of their way to find out where I could purchase the artwork hanging in the lift area that I loved. I received a beautifully worded typed letter in an envelope under my door within hours with all the supplier's information. The restaurant staff were warm and welcoming and anticipated our needs and the food was beyond delicious. Rachelle the Supervisor at breakfast at Bacchus remembered us and our coffee and hot chocolate order from the day before and Costa and Kevin at dinner delivered the most exceptional service with a smile that I will never forget. Truly I can't fault the Rydges at South Bank. I travel a lot and Rydges exceeded all expectations and then some. Congratulations and thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Loved our corner suite. The bathroom was huge and view was so good. Bed super comfy and the room was cleaned to a very high standard each day. Didn't want to leave really! All the staff seemed so happy and I was particularly impressed with the attitude of the younger staff employed at the hotel. The pizza we had poolside on Friday night wasn't the best however the staff handled the situation well. They offered to make us another one but we declined the offer.

Organised a great Valentines night and the hotel was great. Room was beautiful and the outlook was amazing. Bacchus restaurant was first class and in the top of our experiences world wide for food and service.

I moved to the Rydges after spending one night in another hotel in the city center. It was just like coming home, from the welcome at the door to the super efficient and friendly desk staff was a breath of fresh air after the sub-standard experience from the other big chain I had stayed with the night before. The location is fantastic and perfect for both business and pleasure.

Great location, close to everything. Hotel fully refurbed as I use to stay regularly a number of years ago. Cant complain, good facilities, rooms great. Good bar downstairs, eaten at Restaurant once - very very good although at the higher price point but worth it.

I stay here for business through the year and this time was for fun - booked the mamma mia package. great room, fantastic show tickets !! couldn't believe how good the seats were, as always service is faultless and I love the valet parking. first time I have tried the pool bar - lovely on a sunny sunday afternoon, and we enjoyed the $50 voucher that was part of our package - and had a pizza and drinks.

This hotel is in a great area for dinner, drinks and museums. Just a short walk across the bridge to Brisbane CBD and Casino. The room was huge with two Queen beds and a sitting area. Bathroom was small but overall very good. Parking has a $40 per day price tag.

1st Time staying at Rydges South Bank, we enjoyed so much we will definitely be back to enjoy it again. It’s close to everything you need, lots of restaurants and parks for walks. Also the Museum, Art centre and a short walk to the CBD.

We only stayed one night and our main purpose was to visit the art galleries. It was a bit of an unexpected hike in the heat. Wish we could have got a taxi there and back but the hotel was too close. The staff said it was an easy walk. Maybe for them, but some people are older and have mobility issues. I practically was crippled by the time we walked back and had to stay off my feet until the next day. The street outside (Gray St) is horrible. This leads to one complaint: that the CBD Cafe downstairs is open to the heat and noise ... why is it not enclosed? Surely one can expect air conditioning in the main cafe? The food was pretty good, but we just didn't want to be in there with the traffic roaring along outside not to mention the blurgh music over the loudspeaker. Mostly though everything in the hotel was really pretty nice. The beds were supercomfortable, the room was quiet, the airconditioning worked, the blockout blinds really did block out. Only other complaint was the room service food. The menu was limited and the food was pretty minimal and --- pet peeve --- why oh why when we order two pots of tea do we get two pots of not quite hot hot water and a couple of tea-bags!!! A pot of tea means leaf tea made in a pot - preferably using an infuser. You cannot expect people to pay that price for a pot of tepid water. A major disappointment was the horrible, small and busy swimming pool. The photos made it look like a real pool but it was more of a kiddie's dunking station. The noise around the bar was appalling. The luxury restaurant looked nice but the prices were ridiculous so we didn't bother. The hotel was pleasant enough but one would be hard-pressed to say it was really outstanding. The staff also had that kind of slow approach which is so annoying. They didn't seem all that excited to be doing their jobs. Overall, good value and a good price but could have just gone that extra step.

This was our second time at Rydges Southbank. We had the King Suite. The room was very nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The The bar man at the Pool Bar was great too. Happy to recommend this hotel to others.

I’ve stayed in the ryges many of times always clean and tidy, with great park service. It’s in a great location in Southbank Only thing I think needs improvement is the service at the desk. I have been over charged twice the first time some charged another families bar tab to my account and the second time I was charged twice for parking as someone had charged their second car to my room. The reception staff were not helpful on both occasions as I only found this out once I checked out and checked my on line banking. Always make sure you get receipt. I think you need to ask for proof of ID when people are adding stuff to their rooms or in both these cases someone else’s room. Other than that the hotel is great.

We stayed at Ridges South Bank more than a few times now and every time we had very pleasant experience with our stays. Our life is very busy and sometimes we like to escape from everyday chores and have quiet time as a couple and Ridges didn’t disappoint. Staff is very friendly and attentive, rooms are quiet and clean. We especially want to say thank you to Bacchus maître d’hôtel Kevin ( not sure if spelling is correct ) he was so great!!! He made our dining unforgettable and the one to tell friends about. We defiantly will be back.

The hotel is located a stones throw from Southbank where there are so many restaurants to choose from. There is a great Woolworths just up the street towards the Maritime Museum. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river. The hotel is very clean and the beds and pillows very comfy. Breakfast is well catered for with eggs cooked to your liking. Great fruit selection and a coffee machine which makes all different coffees. I would stay here again.

The Rydges @ Southbank is close to many amenities around Southbank all within walking distance and may be 5 minutes comfortable walk to/from downtown Brisbane: Casino, Queen Street Mall and many others

Simple things make a trip great or lousy but it was a great disappointment with the service. Curt reception. No tooth paste or tooth brush. No bath robes. Was asked to pay for the two bottles of WATER in the room.

This is my second stay with you, and once again spotlessly clean, efficient check-in and check-out. I will be back every time I visit Brisbane.

We love our stays at the Rydges. It is family friendly, with kids catered for from family matters packages that include popcorn, ice creams, lollies & drinks delivered to our room for the kids. Room service has a kids friendly menu from vegemite sandwiches, burgers, nuggets, steak and more. The food at the Rydges is fabulous we love the Buffet Breakfast at Barrachas. The hotel & rooms are always immaculate, rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable & the river views are beautiful especially at night. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Could not get a better location to Southbank parklands, restaurants, cinemas, Qpac, Convention Centre, GOMA, there is always something happening at Southbank. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Booked a King Suite for my 60th Birthday as we have stayed in one before. Found ourselves in room 514 which overlooked a carpark and the back foyer of the Brisbane Convention centre. Room was good but after paying top dollar and selecting views as our priority we were very disappointed. Checked in on line but found our room not ready when we arrived at 2.30pm and a very lengthy check in time of around 15 min. Was also surprised we were not told about the $40 fee to use the valet car parking when booking. Had friends staying in the same hotel and they were upgraded to a top floor room and given late checkout and it was my birthday they were there for! They checked in much later than us too. Room was well appointed and staff were good but overall very disappointed to not even be able to glimpse the river. I rated it satisfactory because of the nice room but to be truthful, it wasn't satisfactory at all.

First point of contact was the Concierge, who I found over the 3 - 4 days, unbelievably courteous, helpful and professional. Front Desk Personnel - Yulianna ( excuse the spelling), and Amy, the Senior Duty Manager, were outstanding in every way. Definite asset to the establishment. Street side Café - person in there exceptionally good and special mention to Vitas' ( excuse spelling once again) service who I found exceptional. Housekeeping staff extremely pleasant and accommodating. I found your 'going green', in accommodation, a great idea. Overall, I felt extremely comfortable and welcome. A credit to the Management for a well trained crew!! Thankyou.

I had asked for a specific floor and view and this was exactly what we got. The bed was so comfortable, the room immaculate, the staff polite...even the cleaners had smiles and happy greetings. It made for a most wonderful one night stay. Thanks.

My partner and my 2 children enjoyed a 2 night stay at Rydges Southbank Sunday and Monday. We had a very enjoyable stay here. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in and furniture is all nice and new. They have big new wide screen Samsung LED Tv with foxtel channels and are very reasonably priced for a luxurious Hotel. The staff are always very friendly and attentive espesially Jordan the bar manager upstairs in the pool bar outside. My young daughter was very impressed with the Mock-tail Jordan wipped up for her. I look forward to staying here again next time we spend a weekend in Brisbane. Thank You Rydges for your hospitality.

Always stay in Rydges when we go to the city for a show. The beds are lovely and comfortable the restaurant serves great food and the staff are always very pleasant and helpful. It is also within easy walking distance to everything, would highly recommend this hotel.

Would have liked an English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea. 2 cups, 1 saucer and a teaspoon was disappointing. Not even a knife. Beds were great.

We had a fantastic three night stay. So convenient and close to all the attractions we were wanting to see. The room was very clean and well appointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We dined at Bacchus for breakfast and found the food to be well cooked and prepared with a great variety. We also had dinner at CBD one evening where the service was great and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. All in all a great time had by all!

Rydges Southbank is a lovely hotel in a great City location 2 minute walk to Southbank and City centre. Very efficient and friendly staff. The rooms are well appointed, good sized, exceptionally clean and comfortable. There is never a complaint with this hotel, I have stayed on numerous occasions over a 5 year period and it is always consistent, has never dated and in excellent condition. Bacchus Restaurant is amazing. Only one suggestion, if the kitchen could do more vegetarian dishes would be amazing. A suggestion would be Yotam Ottolenghi. This would make this hotel incredible.

We stayed 4 nights in a Junior Suite and can absolutely recommend Rydges Southbank to anyone who appreciates great service, delicious food and a fabulous room. We dined at Bacchus for both Dinner and Breakfast and can honestly say it has been the best Hotel we have experienced in a long time. As part of a 3 week trip we stayed at a Stamford Melbourne and the Lakehouse in Daylesford and although both were good we can honestly say the Rydges matched them both for food & accommodation but the Rydges Service ( from front door through to housekeeping) blew us away with their professionalism, service and willingness to make a difference! WELL DONE!

Very friendly right from the first phone call when booking in right through to being hand our keys from the valet on departure. The free room upgrade as a 'welcome back' was much appreciated. Will be coming back!

We have stayed at Rydges in South Bank numerous times. It's in an extremely convenient location, walking distance to where we need to be. Our room very comfortable with a lovely view of the river and the wheel. As always, service from the staff was welcoming and helpful.

Great view! Great staff! This hotel is not family orientated. The pool is near a dining area and kids were not welcomed in the pool at all. Got the vibe the whole time that kids weren't welcome at all

I'm a regular guest at Rydges Southbank. My last stay was as exceptional as always. Great service from the moment I pulled up in my car. I'm always greeted pleasantly and made to feel welcome. Super comfortable beds , fabulous views and good is always good. Highly recommended!

Excellent hotel for the business traveler. Front desk staff friendly and efficient. Free good strength WiFi in rooms. Desk set up has lots of plugs for charging devices and and desk lamp really useful when working at night. Loved all the options for lights in the bathroom - lovely and bright to put your on makeup. Location excellent - easy walk to bars and restaurants.

Concierge is the reason I stay with you! Such a luxury having the car parked and luggage taken to my room, and all by friendly, courteous and knowledgeable staff. Reception staff were excellent, and the breakfast at Bacchus and good as ever, but sadly the service is always the weak spot apart from the chef who makes fabulous omelettes and is friendly. Staff in the restaurant are not as friendly as they could be and they didn't clear our plates away at all as our table filled up with dirty crockery.

My partner and i arrived early,and was informed that our room was ready and very efficiently given our keys,so that we could unpack and relax before we went down town.The room was perfect for us and had everything you needed .As our flight the next day was early evening,we rang reception and asked for a late checkout,and it was granted without a problem.The staff were all pleasant ,will go back when next in Brisbane.Thank you.

Staying at Rydges is always a great experience. I would, however, like to share something. I was booking for the school holidays so got in very early and booked so as not to miss out. It was the best package I could get for one adult and three children so I thought. Once April holidays hit, Rydges was advertising Easter Holiday packages and April packages and family packages. I was really disappointed that, as a returning customer, the same wasn't offered to me.

It was nice to have the little espresso coffee cups and a coffee machine, but there were no tea cups. Otherwise everything was great.

As a conference speaker who travels a lot, I highly value a hotel that can provide a no-fuss, high standard of service. As usual, the Rydges delivered.

In Brisbane for a family function and spent a night at the Rydges Southbank. Staff were very welcoming and check in a breeze. Stayed on the 6th floor with very good views of CBD and river. Breakfast on the podium level was complimentary as an April special and offered a full buffet - with a staff member cooking eggs to individual order. Room was very clean and would recommend a night at the Rydges. Very reasonably priced.

We had a wonderful time. The staff were all friendly and had great customer service. The accommodation type we choose was exactly as the pictures advertised (King Suite). It was a fresh, clean, comfortable room and lovely atmosphere. Beautiful sized bathroom with really nice toiletries. Breakfast had a great variety and was delicious. The lovely lady chief made an omelette to die for. The location of the hotel is so central to everything that Southbank has to offer. We will definitely be staying again and again at Rydges Southbank.

Loved it! Got an upgrade, perfect pillows, great tip for a dinner venue, bags accommodated when I checked out, and a first class cafe/bar. Thank you for the great room and wonderful service. Five stars from me!

The room was clean and attractive. The bed was fabulous. We had the best breakfast and a late checkout. It was a memorable stay we will repeat.

Stayed at Rydges for two nights, I arrived and found that travel agent had booked in wrong nights. Staff very helpful and luckily they found an alternative room without any problems. Rooms service was polite efficient , I had ordered and then needed to cancel, without any problem (as they hadn't started cooking) but again didn't make me feel bad. I also sought toothpaste which i had forgotten and it was delivered to the room very quickly. all in all one of the better experiences, i did have trouble logging onto the wifi, I didn't resolve what the problem was ie whether it was my equipment or the site.

Rydges Southbank is a wonderful property, staff are very professional and helpful, rooms immaculate however my colleagues and I were amazed that breakfast was $39.00 per person for buffet+ additional for real coffee. It left a bad taste in their mouths and over budget for our corporate expenses.

Staff at reception for check in we're very slow and mildly unpleasant. I requested a view room, my view was a brick wall and a corner of the Brisbane eye. The coffee at CBD cafe was so terrible. It tasted like long life milk and barely any coffee, I ended up throwing 7/8ths of it away. On checkout I asked for recommendation to get fresh juice, the reception staff sent me on a wild goose chase. Don't recommend something if you don't know! I did like the new foyer and the concierge was lovely.

Venue, location and service were all excellent. Staff are very professional and Kate the event manager was exceptional. The room was spacious with a well appointed fit-out and extremely comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend! The only suggestions I would make for the next renovation is in the bathroom: - hang the toilet roll holder either beside or in front instead of behind, - different type of basin so you can get your hands under the tap, and - wider shower screen / better falls & drainage. Now matter how hard we tried, we could not keep the water in the shower. Thanks for a great stay!

This is a great hotel to stay with the family. Easy walk to South Bank and public transport. The service from staff is nothing short of attentive and friendly, a pleasant change to the general lack of customer service experienced these days. We have stayed a couple times now with young children and will always stay here for future trips to Brisbane. The room was clean and the bathroom was very functional. The only negative is the expense, but well worth it I guess to get great service and a clean room.

The staff were pleasant and the facilities satisfactory; however, I had one significant issue...I could hear the adjoining room's television right through the wall. It was turned off by about 10:30 but I was debating at that point whether I should knock on the door or call the front desk. By that time I was stressed over it and subsequently didn't have a very good night's sleep. This is something that should have been thought of or addressed when the hotel was built as noise transmission is really a primary thing in hotel rooms.

The room staff did a fabulous job of making the end of my busy day so much more relaxing and luxurious. The breakfast was always a treat and the staff were helpful, courteous and professional. Thank you

I spent 3 nights and four days at Rydges for a Early Childhood Conference, everything was of exceptional standards from, accommodation, to food, to service.

The rooms were comfortable and the venue is located in a great central location The conference food was not fabulous with the afternoon tea running out before everyone had eaten

From check in to check out my experience was 5 stars all the way. The staff were friendly and efficient, the meals were beautiful and fresh and breakfast served in the restaurant was a treat. The bed was so comfortable I drifted off into a dream filled night.

overall good. comments as follows 1) basin tap is too far away from the basin, awkward to use 2) tv channels are limited - as a sports fan I need more eg ESPN/ESPN2 etc etc - I book my hotels based on this alone 3) bed would be better if a king, room is big enough for it. 4) bed is comfortable 5) air con is good - quiet which is unusual 6) house-keeping too noisy for those who work late and sleep in past 8am 7) location is great 8) gym equipment is outdated but works 9) over all good without being great. apologies if I have offended anyone but this is some good feedback from someone who travels frequently and stays in an array of hotels. warm regards Jamie

Everything was great from start to finish. Check in and check out were quick and easy, service was friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. We did a package deal which included a 2 course dinner at the Bacchus restaurant and also a buffet breakfast. The dinner was out of this world, we thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of each course and the service was outstanding. The buffet breakfast was lovely with a large amount to choose from for all palates, everything was very fresh and again, the service was great. All in all, we will definately return hopefully in the near future.

Rooms are large, modern and clean. We had a great view and any staff we ran into were always ready to greet us . We had breakfast at Bacchus House which was yummy with a wide variety. The Hotel is close to everything, that we were able to come and go easily to where we needed to be. Thank you for a great stay.

I've stayed here before and enjoyed the location for it's convenience and the neighbourhood. I arrived early and the room wasn't ready - which is standard for hotels, but staff were welcoming, and after a reminder at 2.00, were able to give me the room key. Since my last stay, the rooms have been refurbished and are of a very high standard. The restaurant was full and a table not ready for 3/4 hour, but the hostess made an effort to get me seated earlier. As usual, the restaurant service was excellent and the food very nice indeed - with exciting and innovative flavours featuring. On returning to my room I discovered a complimentary bottle of wine had been left - and I greatly appreciated the thought. I recommend Southbank Rydges to anyone who tells me they are coming to Brisbane. A high quality stay.

Great short stay - always come here if heading to QPAC

I phoned to book in late in the afternoon, giving the information that we weren't far away. Approximately 15 - 20 mins later I was at reception, the young girl couldn't find my booking so she went off through a door and I waited, finally she came back and asked if I had only just booked in, yes I had phoned through not long before coming in, oh so off she went again, then this time when she came back a phone rang and she answered it, spoke for a few minutes and went off to deal with whatever the phone call had been about, the man next to her asked if I was okay and I said I wasn't sure, he said oh she will be back and continued serving more people. Meanwhile someone came and put a piece of torn off notepaper on the reception desk which I could see had all my details on it including my credit card number. So this time when she came back I drew her attention to the paper and said there are my details. All this time I had found it extremely difficult to understand anything she said due to her accent and soft voice. Finally she had me on the system and asked for my email address, I said it is on the piece of paper. I was by this time pretty annoyed at the long wait, difficulty in understanding her and at seeing my details on a scrap piece of paper. Surely in this day and age bookings are input straight to the system while speaking to the person. Did I want two keycards?? yes I did, I noticed that the man beside her had not once asked this question of anyone but automatically given them two. Finally on our way up to the room, opened the door and the bar fridge door was wide open, hence the fridge and its contents were room temperature, I could not be bothered alerting the staff. Next morning we went to have a cup of tea, there was either black tea or chamomile!! I drink Earl Grey, a fairly common tea. The black teabags looked like they had been around for a few months, my husband persevered with a cup but after one sip, poured it out. Absolutely disgusted with the choice and condition of the tea bags. Lets have a cup of coffee, oh wait there is only three pods and one of them is decaffeinated, should have brought our own Nespresso pods so we could at least have a decent cup of coffee. On the up side the bed was very comfortable and the location is great.

I have stayed here many times before. It was a quick weekend trip to Brisbane.

The hotel, staff and all amenities were nice, clean and well presented. The only real disappointment was that upon arrival we were told and stung with a $30 a night charge to park our car. At no time during our booking process, looking over room rates etc were we told that there would be a $30 charge per night for parking. All we were told was that parking was available to guest, nothing saying that there would be extra charges for the privilege of staying at the hotel. If we knew our stay was going to cost $30 extra a night to park our car, we probably would have looked for alternate accommodation or a least looked for somewhere with a better room rate. Your customers should be made aware of any charges which you intend to charge them, especially as we I did ask the person which I booked with if parking was available and they said yes, however seemed to forget to mention the $30 a night charge. My husband was not to impressed with his first impression of the hotel when we arrived and he was told this. Will we stay again, the jury is still out. Maybe our comments can help you not get the next unsuspecting customer an unexpected charge upon there arrival at your hotel. I would recommend your hotel, but I will more diligent in the questions I ask when booking my next hotel stay.

lovely hotel the only thing would like to have drink before dinner at pool bar but was close from 6pm for function and on Sunday morning went for swim at 8.30 and there were no towels and no staff around to ask for some. On down side my parents had a great room but were kept awake from noise from next room via connecting door not happy , spoke to reception next day and they did complementary breakfast for them very happy would also be nice if did special price for guests as we would of liked all of us to be together but could not afford it

After sorting out the initial error of being given a low floor room when a higher floor room had been requested, we had a very enjoyable and relaxing few days in Brisbane. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was lovely.

Reception excellent. Concierge excellent including organising my airport transport and a car space for my friend. It just seemed that Concierge were a bit stretched at peak times with a lack of staff. But all staff were still extremely helpful. Room was excellent and room service also great.

From the moment we arrived until we left we were impressed with the level of professionalism and friendliness from every member of staff.

New fit out is great, Breakfast delivered to the room was excellent. Arrived at 11.30pm and Checkin staff were great, welcoming and efficient. A credit to the Manager of the facility who appears to have built a team that is engaged with a high level of motivation to make the customer experience the best they can. This is my favorite Rydges hotel to stay at in Australia. It is now my prefered hotel in Brisbane.

From front desk's suggestion to swim at the hotel pool or Park Land's man made beach instead of the dirty Brisbane River, to the breakfast each morning, to the increase in room occupancy at the late hour plus the special access to Brisbane Conference Center - everything was grand. Next time me and my son will remember closed shoes and long pants so we can enjoy the degustation.

I had to stay overnight after a cancelled flight. The rooms were well presented and the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was also up to standard.

I recently stayed at Rydges on Swanson in Melbourne while I was on holiday for a week or so and it was a very disappointing stay, to say the least. I had heard that Rydges was a fantastic hotel so I was slightly confused, but wanted to stay a second time at another establishment just to be sure. WOW was I surprised when I stepped foot into South Bank Rydges! The lobby was clean and shiny, and staff were wonderful and all greeted me, as well as the check in being fast and easy. The horrible experience I had at Swanston was still in the back of my mind as I walked into my room though, but as soon as I swung that door open it all disappeared. I am the type of customer who will look for faults in a room, it's just the way I am, and needless to say I could find NONE! Your housekeeping staff have an eye for detail that I admire and the room was absolutely immaculate; the impression was good enough that I was about ready to book a second night and extend my weekend! I ordered room service at some ungodly hour and the response was prompt and fed my craving for potato wedges thoroughly. For the price that I paid at your hotel, I feel as though it was an absolute steal. This hotel was an amazing experience from start to finish and I would've happily paid more. I'd like to thank all of the staff that made my experience at Rydges as great as it was this past Sunday night, and because of them I will be a regular at your hotel when I go out for a few drinks and need accomodation.

Loved the location, quick check in, easy parking and valet service, great rooms. Nice pool and bar but the pool was closed for maintenance, very disappointing. The staff at the pool bar was very arrogant. There were 4 people behind the bar at 11:45am and i came with my friends to have some drinks and nibbles, they made me wait until 12pm to order a beer, they didn't come to me to take the order, 4 people were just standing there inside the bar and i was the only client outside waiting to have my drink! Poor service! Not what you expected from a 5 star hotel!

Such a lovely hotel, modern rooms and so comfortable, not sure about the furniture in the dining area though lol. Bit 70's but the food was good and the variety was great. One little thing to keep in mind is the air freshener smell that is around the foyer area, very overpowering and caused me to have a headache but apart from that, I would stay there again.

Rydges is my home in Brisbane and it never faulters

King suite was spacious. Acoustics of hotel room could do with improvement, could clearly hear the guests in our neighbouring room, as could you clearly hear other guests showering as you walked the hallways.

From the moment we arrived at Rydges we were treated beautifully and very excited with how professional the staff were with every request. Fast service with a smile and nothing was ever a problem. Will rebook and tell others!!!! Fantastic!!!! When we got to our room we found the view was not what the site described so staff immediately offered us a free breakfast as an upgrade was not available. Very impressed!

I found breakfast to be Luke warm at best. The swimming pool is too small and too public to be of much use or appeal Hotel makes good use of technology to effect the booking/confirmation /customer satisfaction processes

Room was nice and spacious and bed comfy, we had a problem with the tv, we couldn't turn it on or off so we had a blue glow in the room all night that we had to cover with the doona. Other than that it was nice.

The staff were so understanding and helpful, when I had to be hospitalized, and helped us extend our checkout time without any drama or additional charge. The only thing I would say, is that ti would be great to have an area around the pool where you could lay on deck chairs, as opposed to just sit at bar chairs. But overall, great staff, and lovely rooms.

I spent my 50th birthday weekend at Rydges Southbank and was very impressed. Room and view was perfect...Lovely glassware in rooms a nice touch and the buffet breakfast was delicious!!

We stayed on a two queen bed room - we found the room very roomy and shower/bathroom area nicely presented and modern. The location is great with Southbank just a few steps away with a selection of great restaraunts - the only negative would be the elevators - they may need an update as we waited 20 min at one stage with the big influx of christmas events or give hotel guests priority access to use elevators
